Win-It Wednesday: Keurig Single-Cup Brewer and New K-Cups!

November 10, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski 2,351 Comments

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting a 24-hour giveaway to give you plenty of chances to win!

I’ve shared my thoughts on Keurig Single-Cup Brewers in the past, and I still love my Keurig just as much today.

I’m always up for trying new K-cup flavors, so I was happy to test drive the new Millstone and Folgers varieties.

Millstone coffee and Folgers Gourmet Selections K-Cup portion packs are made from the same high quality beans already available on-shelf in over 50 blends, and offer the exceptional taste that both brand’s passionate coffee drinkers have come to expect. The superior taste is the result of both brand’s precise “bean to cup” process that involves an intricate method of growing, roasting, and blending to ensure each cup of coffee delivers a unique coffee drinking experience.

I really enjoyed them, with the Folgers Black Silk K-cups being the one I liked the best. I like my coffee strong and bold, so this one was the closest to what I would typically buy. The Millstone Hazelnut K-cups were fun for a change of pace. They’re perfect for an after-dinner treat in lieu of a decadent dessert!

Millstone and Folgers Gourmet Selections K-Cup portion packs are available in the following flavors:

  • Millstone Breakfast Blend (Fair Trade Certified)
  • Millstone Hazelnut Cream
  • Folgers Gourmet Selections Black Silk
  • Folgers Gourmet Selections Lively Colombian
  • Folgers Gourmet Selections Lively Colombian Decaf
  • Folgers Gourmet Selections Vanilla Biscotti

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win a Keurig Single-Cup Brewer and four samples of the new Millstone and Folgers K-Cup varieties!

i know what would really help our morning, the smell of coffee..oh how i miss the smell of fresh brewing coffee in the morning to kick start my day.
With 4 kids to get ready and out the door and two little ones to tag along, we do prepare a lot the night before, clothes picked out, water bottles filled, details checked off (papers signed, library books in bags, etc.)
I also keep all the clocks 10 minutes faster than the schools clocks :) its my sanity cushion since I dont get any coffee until I have dropped the older kids at school, I need that surge of “oh no we’re gonna be late” to get us out the door..

Coffee doesn’t just give me a morning “jolt”… it’s my lifeline! Mornings are so hectic around here, I don’t think I would make it through if it wasn’t for coffee ;)

Tips and trips of a hectic morning… I sit sip on some coffee while making a list of things I need to do that day. This helps clear my head, and focus my thoughts, while waking up! :) Once one cup is in my veins, I can gently motivate my son to finish getting ready for school, walk him to the bus stop, hug n kiss if he will let me. (he’s 9, so it depends on his mood LOL). I wave goodbye and then its ME TIME! I get my shower and start checking things off my list one by one, as I do them. :) Helps me stay focused and makes me feel accomplished when I finish everything on my list!

Have a Grind N’ Brew & love it…it is kind of labor intensive, though. A Kuering would be great for that 3:00 i the afternoon cup!

To make mornings go easier, I set up the coffee pot the night before, have lunches packed the night before and clothes laid out, plus I gather any extra items that need to go with us on the counter where we won’t forget! And just the aroma of freshly perked coffee brightens the morning!

My strategies to avoiding a hectic morning are:

    1. Get as much done the night before. Lunches packed. Outfits laid out. Purse and keys by the door. Dishwasher empty and ready to take dirty dishes.

    2. Get up an hour before my kids usually wake..which leads to the gourmet cup of coffee…a must to not fall back asleep!

Getting up at 430 in the morning is hectic and painful… having a new puppy makes things more difficult. It’s such a relief when you can stop for a minute and sip a warm cup of coffee…(especially when it’s freezing out, like lately)!

My husband loves coffee, me not so much. But I struggle with making him the perfect cup. Having a Keurig would be so wonderful. I love to wake up to a house smelling like hot fresh coffee. It just gets me out of bed and moving without even drinking it. It would be great for the taste to be as perfect as the smell-since I never seem to get it perfect!

    I am a caffeine junkie.
When I have to be somewhere early the next day, I pack everything up including snacks and drinks (for me and kiddos). I’ll even pack the cooler and stick it in the fridge the night before. My basic coffee maker has a programmable brewing time so I will set it to program for the morning. When the kids wake up the Olympic Mom games start and with that helpful cup of caffeine I am off to the races!
Nevertheless, I have a 3 and 1 year old and every morning is not that easy.
With the convenience of a coffee shop quality right at home with the push of a button at the lovely hour of 5 am (my lovely children’s new favorite time to wake up, thanks to Daylight Savings) I can already picture myself showered and dressed by 10am! No more missed play dates, no more eating hot dogs 3 nights in a row because I cannot get to the grocery store due to lack of energy! Gourmet coffee at home at the touch of a button… coffee heaven!

My best “tip and trick” to manage a hectic morning is to get up 10 minutes early (if I can). That way I’m not playing catch up from the get go, and there is a little bit of time in case something unexpected comes up (which usually happens). I have an hours drive to work every morning, and a fresh cup of coffee is a MUST for that long drive. Most of the time, any type of coffee will do, but it is nice to have some gourmet coffee every now and then to really savor during the drive.
