Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

Have you ever wondered if you remembered to close the garage door? Or have you ever worried about the safety of your garage door? If so, then the Genie SilentMax 1000 garage door opener and its many new safety features will offer you peace of mind.
Not only does the SilentMax 1000 provide intelligent design for the homeowner that wants quiet performance with superior design and conveniences, it also offers some pretty amazing safety features like a comprehensive Safe-T-Beam system that meets or exceeds CSA regulations, an auto reversing system that prevents it from closing if something is in the way, and a superior encryption system that automatically changes the access code every time you use it to prevent unauthorized persons from opening your garage door.
The Genie SilentMax 1000 is so simple to install that my husband was able to put it up without assistance in about an hour. I have to say it definitely lives up to its name — it’s the quietest garage door opener I’ve ever heard (or not heard in this case). I was in the house and had no idea he was already testing it out!

I love the keypad entry system because it means I don’t have to carry bulky keys with me when I go for a walk or to the park, and it’s also great for those rare occasions when the kids beat me home from school. They just punch in our PIN number, and can let themselves into the house.

One of my favorite features is the optional Network Adapter. It’s easy to get distracted when pulling out of the driveway with a carload of kids, so this handy little feature tells me at a glance whether or not I’ve remembered to shut the garage door. The Network Adapter remote will beep and flash green when closed properly or give a warning tone and flash read when not closed properly.
Today, one lucky Deal Seeking Mom winner will win a Genie Silent Max 1000 Garage Door Opener prize pack that includes:
- One SilentMax 1000 Garage Door Opener
- Closed Confirm 3-button Remote and Network Adapter Combo

We have two very active boys who are in and out of our garage (which has no garage door opener unfortunately) every day, along with the neighborhood kids. The door is too high and too heavy for our 7 yr old to open and close it, but that hasn’t stopped him before. He’s tried it once and experienced how fast and hard it slams down if you don’t do it just right. Thankfully he wasn’t hurt!

My biggest concern is making sure that the door is closed. Ours seems to have something wrong with one of the springs.

We have two little ones that know how to use EVERYTHING! We live in the country and it’s scary when I am home alone with the kids. We have also been locked out when the power is out. Scary!!!! When you have a newborn and it’s snowing!!!!

I would love to win this prize. It would be a lifesaver. I live in a home with a manual garage door that is heavy and can fall without warning being fatal to whoever in under it. I have a dog.cat and watch two young girls. The reverse safety closing option would ease my mind. I would love knowing that we could play and work without the danger of the door closing.

We’re always having that conversation of “Did we close the garage door?” and I’m also concerned about the door closing on a little one.

my biggest concern w/garage door opener is that one day it won’t open the door anymore…what would we do then? :)
Robin K
Biggest concern is whether or not the door is safe for pets and children. Would hate for anyone/anything to get crushed.
Jennifer B.
I am always concerned that someone could break into the house through our garage if we forgot to lock it.
delynn
My biggest garage door concern is forgetting to close it and anyone having access to my house. It’s definitely happened more than once! Currently our new house doesn’t even have a garage door opener so we have to open and close the door manually. I always forget to.close it and drive away!
Holly
My biggest worry is that my kids will play around with it and lock themselves (or me) out. We have a photosensor, so crushing is a little less worry, but still always in the back of my mind…
Next garage opener gets installed higher ;)
