Win-It Wednesday: Genie Garage Door Opener Prize Pack

October 12, 2011 by Deal Seeking Mom

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

Have you ever wondered if you remembered to close the garage door? Or have you ever worried about the safety of your garage door?  If so, then the Genie SilentMax 1000 garage door opener and its many new safety features will offer you peace of mind.

Not only does the SilentMax 1000 provide intelligent design for the homeowner that wants quiet performance with superior design and conveniences, it also offers some pretty amazing safety features like a comprehensive Safe-T-Beam system that meets or exceeds CSA regulations, an auto reversing system that prevents it from closing if something is in the way, and a superior encryption system that automatically changes the access code every time you use it to prevent unauthorized persons from opening your garage door.

The Genie SilentMax 1000 is so simple to install that my husband was able to put it up without assistance in about an hour. I have to say it definitely lives up to its name — it’s the quietest garage door opener I’ve ever heard (or not heard in this case). I was in the house and had no idea he was already testing it out!

I love the keypad entry system because it means I don’t have to carry bulky keys with me when I go for a walk or to the park, and it’s also great for those rare occasions when the kids beat me home from school. They just punch in our PIN number, and can let themselves into the house.

One of my favorite features is the optional Network Adapter. It’s easy to get distracted when pulling out of the driveway with a carload of kids, so this handy little feature tells me at a glance whether or not I’ve remembered to shut the garage door. The Network Adapter remote will beep and flash green when closed properly or give a warning tone and flash read when not closed properly.

Today, one lucky Deal Seeking Mom winner will win a Genie Silent Max 1000 Garage Door Opener prize pack that includes:

  • One SilentMax 1000 Garage Door Opener
  • Closed Confirm 3-button Remote and Network Adapter Combo

To enter, tell me what your biggest safety concern is with garage doors.

My biggest safety concern is closing the garage in the evening and not knowing that it opened after you already went in the house. This happened to us.

my biggest concern is that the old one I have goes up and down by itself, I have three kids that love to ride there bikes but can’t go thru our garage anymore because we are afraid the door will open or close on them. Would love to replace it with a brand-new opener that wil make them safe.
    Thank you

I have a zillion concerns with my 2 as neither works right. One we’ve even had to unhook as the electric part quit working all together. They are ancient and I’m afraid there are shorts that could cause a fire.

I am concerned about malfunction. I have an 18′ garage door. If the opener or the sensors stopped working, someone could be seriously hurt.

My biggest concern is that the door would fall on one of my pets. We have a very old door and it is really heavy. It almost crushed one of my dogs.

My biggest safety concern is the door falling down on one of our small children since our garage door opener is currently broken….it does not seem stable when we have it up.

  27. Jennifer

    October 12, 2011 at 2:22 pm

We use our attached garage as a covered playplace for the children I keep at my in-home daycare. My biggest safty concern is that one of the kids will hit the button and the safety mechanism wont work. Its getting pretty old and needs to be replaced ;o)

  28. marcia

    October 12, 2011 at 2:22 pm

My greatest fear is the door closing on a child or a pet.
