Win-It Wednesday: Genie Garage Door Opener Prize Pack

October 12, 2011 by Deal Seeking Mom

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

Have you ever wondered if you remembered to close the garage door? Or have you ever worried about the safety of your garage door?  If so, then the Genie SilentMax 1000 garage door opener and its many new safety features will offer you peace of mind.

Not only does the SilentMax 1000 provide intelligent design for the homeowner that wants quiet performance with superior design and conveniences, it also offers some pretty amazing safety features like a comprehensive Safe-T-Beam system that meets or exceeds CSA regulations, an auto reversing system that prevents it from closing if something is in the way, and a superior encryption system that automatically changes the access code every time you use it to prevent unauthorized persons from opening your garage door.

The Genie SilentMax 1000 is so simple to install that my husband was able to put it up without assistance in about an hour. I have to say it definitely lives up to its name — it’s the quietest garage door opener I’ve ever heard (or not heard in this case). I was in the house and had no idea he was already testing it out!

I love the keypad entry system because it means I don’t have to carry bulky keys with me when I go for a walk or to the park, and it’s also great for those rare occasions when the kids beat me home from school. They just punch in our PIN number, and can let themselves into the house.

One of my favorite features is the optional Network Adapter. It’s easy to get distracted when pulling out of the driveway with a carload of kids, so this handy little feature tells me at a glance whether or not I’ve remembered to shut the garage door. The Network Adapter remote will beep and flash green when closed properly or give a warning tone and flash read when not closed properly.

Today, one lucky Deal Seeking Mom winner will win a Genie Silent Max 1000 Garage Door Opener prize pack that includes:

  • One SilentMax 1000 Garage Door Opener
  • Closed Confirm 3-button Remote and Network Adapter Combo

To enter, tell me what your biggest safety concern is with garage doors.

My garage door opener broke about 2 months ago, right after my husband needed to start using a power scooter. This means I have to open the HEAVY door manually and it has no safety features. HELP!! This would be such a blessing!

As of right now, my biggest concern with the garage door that I have is that it’s too heavy to lift. We don’t have a door opener that works and it nearly breaks my back to open it. Not to mention the fear of it falling once it is lifted.

my biggest fear is my family not being safe. We have a very unreliable garage door.

Garage doors don’t come with the on-the-wall locks anymore so it seems that if you lift hard enough, anyone can open them

My biggest concern about garage openers is that someone may use a hanger to open it anyway. Does this garage opener prevent that?

The fact that it won’t close if something is in the way. With a toddler this is great to have.

Our garage is not attached to the house, it’s off an alley way. I occasionally worry the door has been left open because we can’t see it from the house and while no one could enter our home,. they could steal things from the garage or our cars.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
