Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

Have you ever wondered if you remembered to close the garage door? Or have you ever worried about the safety of your garage door? If so, then the Genie SilentMax 1000 garage door opener and its many new safety features will offer you peace of mind.
Not only does the SilentMax 1000 provide intelligent design for the homeowner that wants quiet performance with superior design and conveniences, it also offers some pretty amazing safety features like a comprehensive Safe-T-Beam system that meets or exceeds CSA regulations, an auto reversing system that prevents it from closing if something is in the way, and a superior encryption system that automatically changes the access code every time you use it to prevent unauthorized persons from opening your garage door.
The Genie SilentMax 1000 is so simple to install that my husband was able to put it up without assistance in about an hour. I have to say it definitely lives up to its name — it’s the quietest garage door opener I’ve ever heard (or not heard in this case). I was in the house and had no idea he was already testing it out!

I love the keypad entry system because it means I don’t have to carry bulky keys with me when I go for a walk or to the park, and it’s also great for those rare occasions when the kids beat me home from school. They just punch in our PIN number, and can let themselves into the house.

One of my favorite features is the optional Network Adapter. It’s easy to get distracted when pulling out of the driveway with a carload of kids, so this handy little feature tells me at a glance whether or not I’ve remembered to shut the garage door. The Network Adapter remote will beep and flash green when closed properly or give a warning tone and flash read when not closed properly.
Today, one lucky Deal Seeking Mom winner will win a Genie Silent Max 1000 Garage Door Opener prize pack that includes:
- One SilentMax 1000 Garage Door Opener
- Closed Confirm 3-button Remote and Network Adapter Combo

Concerned that the sensors may break and the door won’t reopen as someone (my son, the neighbor kid running in to say hello) or something (our car) may get hurt/damaged.

my new teen driver claims he forgets to close the garage door, therefore leaving it open w/ no cars parked, yikes!!

I’m always afraid it won’t close all the way! Ours has a habit of NOT closing so I usually have to sit in the driveway until it’s all the way closed and often even have to shut off my car, close it manually by holding down the button then go out through the front door. Kinda defeats the purpose of a garage door opener!!

my biggest concern about the safety of my garage door opener would have to be having it fail causing the door to close on one of my children.
JO
I could use a new one.

Garage doors offer an auto open feature when the door hits something but what about sensing extra weight on the door if it is going up? Say a kid is hanging on for fun or by accident. Are there any openers with this feature? This is a concern/idea.

My biggest concern is safety for my children.
Tammy
I worry that my door is opened after I closed it in the morning.
Amy
Did it close all the way
Charlene
The garage door opener is not my concern since it is way up on the top and it doesn’t have any moving parts. My concern is the moving parts in the garage…the door, the rollers. I wish the manufacture would come out with some kind of shield for these dangerous, moving parts.

My biggest fear is that my garage door opener is going to die!! It is ancient, old, noisy and clunky!!
lisa
My biggest fear is that when I push the garage door to close one of our cats will sneakily run in real quick and trigger the door and it will remain open and set our alarm system off after we have set it which will then trigger the police to be called which will trigger someone on the call list to be called and then I will have to come back home to straigthen it all out. Ugh!

My concern is that every time I leave, our garage door opener is so loud that it will wake my entire family. Sleep in our house is precious – a loud garage door opener and I are not friends.
Rachel
My biggest concern is the opener not working! I don’t always have my house key, so I need it to work without question. The outside entry would definitely give peace of mind.
Claire
My biggest worry is that it won’t close
