Eureka claims their new Eureka AirSpeed Bagless Upright Vacuum cleans carpets better than Dyson DC14, DC17 and DC25 at one-third the price. Does it really perform that well? Well, they sent my mom a vacuum to put it to the test, and here’s what she had to say about it:
I love the new Eureka! It was very easy to put together — no tools required. It comes with a quick start guide, and you are up and running in minutes. Plus it has a customer helpline if you have any questions at all.
It sweeps great. You can adjust the sweeper height with your foot instead of having to bend down. I like the way you flip a switch and your tools are working, and it has a super long hose to reach all your hard to reach places. It comes with many extras like the 3-position wand to set it at the length you need, crevice tool, and dusting brush.
My favorite part of the sweeper is the Turbo Nozzle. It is a an attachment that fits at the bottom of the hose and gives your furniture and steps a good cleaning. I hate to do the steps and this attachment made the job so easy! There is a maintenance schedule located on the back side of the dust cup which tells you when to clean each part of the sweeper, and it has a nice brush to clean the filters to maintain suction. It also has a two year warranty.
So it gets my mom’s stamp of approval! Priced at just $119.96, it’s definitely a quality vacuum at a bargain price.
- Airspeed Technology with wide tubes diverts the suction power to the floor or the hose
- Whirlwind Cyclonic technology maintains suction power longer and separates large debris from fine dust, resulting in less maintenance
- HEPA filter removes up to 99.97 percent of all allergens for cleaner home
- Turbo powered stair and upholstery brush removes dust, allergens and pet dander from upholstery backs and stair risers
- Deluxe stretch hose with wands provides 10′ of reach to remove dirt from all surfaces
- No tools required for assembly
- Upholstery and dusting brush, extension wand and crevice tool
- 27′ power cord with easy cord release
- Powerful 12 amp motor
- Weighs just 19 lbs
- Scuff-resistant furniture guard
- Flip bottom dust cup for easy emptying

our family room always needs to be swept.

The hallway from the front door to the living room gets the most traffic. My husband works outdoors as a contractor and all the mud he and the kids bring in, I have to vacuum everyday. Our vacuum does not have good suction power. I need a vacuum that can pick up the dirt easily.

My dirtiest areas are the living room, hallway and entry way. We don’t wear shoes in the house, but somehow the toddlers are always sneaking cheerios, pretzels and other snacks into the living room and making a huge mess.

I follow you on fb….my vacuum just died two days ago so is this a sign :)

My living room and hallway are the high traffic spots in my house. I have purchased 3 vacuums in the last three years. Can’t find one like the old days:(

We have only one room with carpet where my 2-year old plays daily. I just found out that I am allergic to my own cat & all the indoor & outdoor dust. So, I gotta keep vacuuming the room daily :-( Dr. suggested me to get a better vacuum with a HEPA filter. I definitely could use this one now!

Love DSM! Our stairs and landings are the busiest and hardest to clean. This would really help.

Dude.. I need a new vacuum… we are doing construction on the house… and you cannot believe the amount of dust that accumulates each day. We get the most foot traffic by the side door.
Sarah K.
Well.. I’m not sure it’s considered “traffic,” but the part of our house that needs to be vacuumed the most is our bedroom (because the cats’ litter boxes are in the bathroom attached to our bedroom, so litter gets tracked into our bedroom). it feels icky on bare feet!

From my front door thru the living room is the biggest traffic area in my home.
