Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

Is something bugging you?! Bestselling award-winner David Shannon shows the funny side of waging war against–oh no!–head lice. Bugs in My Hair is guaranteed to make you laugh–and itch! From the opening picture of a happy, over-sized louse appearing with his suitcases, you know these bugs are determined to stay, and Mom is about to go nuts!
Author David Shannon peppers his hilarious scenes with fun, “nitpicking” facts about these “lousy” critters and pokes fun at common denial: “It’s probably ash from that volcano in Pogo Pogo.” Once again Shannon has created a fresh, highly entertaining read-aloud classic that begs to be read again and again.
“If anyone can make a case of head lice fun, it’s Shannon. He humorously captures and normalizes the panic, embarrassment, and tedium of this common grade-school affliction. Even the mom’s reactions — first panic, then phantom head-itch, then mountains of laundry — are perfect!”
–Susan Kunhardt, Book Passage, Corte Madera, CA

When I was a teaching assistant, we had to send home some kindergarteners. I walked by them sitting on a bench waiting on their moms. I asked why they were there and they were all excited to tell me, “We’ve got head lights!”

When I was a young girl I had a lice and when my mom brought me to the salon for a hair cut since I have a long hair, the person cutting my hair saw the crawling lice from the hair she just cut. I feel so embarrassed :(

I have gone to great lengths to avoid it, being a school teacher, but I have heard and seen some stories with students! This is a great way to lighten the situation for them and their understanding!
