    I always try to spend some one on one time playing with my children each day. We live in such a fast paced world, that I want to take this time with them to help them feel special.

    We bake and do crafts together and give them to others. We also make things fun (like chores) by singing while we work.

    We try to maintain a balance between needs and wants. We give them all they need plus many things they want, and not just material things. An extra hour to stay up past their bedtime, game nights, sleep overs, one-on-one Mommy or Daddy time and yes, the even the occasional toy store trip!

    I take my grandchildren solo for ice cream. This puts all the focus on them, and the ice cream is usually at MacDonald’s or Wendy’s, etc. Inexpensive but a time to concentrate on just being together with a sweet treat thrown in.
