December 15, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski 1,357 Comments

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

The holidays are officially here, and whether you’re getting ready for a holiday party with friends or prepping for a grand family event, there’s always lots to do around the house, especially if there are any pesky house projects lurking. Whether it’s repairing a hole in the wall from a door handle, sealing up the house for the winter or doing some home improvements, HouseLogic has the tools to help you succeed.

Recently, HouseLogic wrote a featured article on the series I did with Mandi of Life… Your Way on Preparing Your Home for the Holidays. If you missed the series, Mandi had some great tips on how to keep your house from getting out of control and to help manage the large stuff so that holiday cleaning and decorating doesn’t feel as overwhelming. They are tips that can be implemented at any time, and they really do help keep you a bit more sane in this insane season.

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win a $250 Visa gift card from HouseLogic!

To enter, tell me one home project you have on the horizon that HouseLogic could help you with.

Our water pipes have rusted and had mayor leak and flooded the front yard. We just fixed a couple that were urgent, but discover two more that we still need to replace…

My house was built in 1920 so we always have a list. I have one room left to buy curtains for and we would like to put gas logs in our fireplace.

So we bought our house about a year ago “as is”. Ofcourse it needed alot of work. With our budget being so tight because of the mortage payment we havent really had the time to fix anything. Right now we def need insulation in the house. During the summer we used up alot of energy with the fans and the coolers. During the cold like right now, we have a heater that runs up our bill so it gets harder trying to use it and staying within our budget. Not having the house sealed up has really made us go over our budget with alot of unecessary energy being used. Insulation would be great to have in our home.

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
