Did you know that September is National College Savings Month? What better time to start saving to give your kids a little extra help in obtaining a college education!

I had the opportunity to learn about the CollegeAdvantage 529 Savings Plan at the Ohio State Fair last month, and I was really inspired to start a savings plan for our kids. I’ve always been adamant that I’d like for our children to have some responsibility in paying for their education so that they don’t take it for granted, but I’d definitely like to be able to assist them in their efforts, so this seems like a fantastic option for us.

    College savings is ongoing…..have a son who is a senior in college! Trying as hard as we can to get him through so he has no student loans!

    We started a savings account for my daughter, but haven’t started a 529 yet. Guess we need to get on that!

    I am sad to say No, I do not have a college fund for my kids. I could not even get a loan under my name due to family matters which caused me to go under.I am now unemployed so any money saved went to what was needed. I am embrassed but know sometimes we have to do what is needed. (sorry didnt want to sound like a downer, its ok I will help them when I am back on my feet :) )

    We have a college fund for each of our 4 children. We consider that their birthday present every year from us!
