Do It Yourself Giveaway: $100 Home Depot Gift Card

December 22, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski

gingerbread_man_cardHome Depot is my favorite store to shop at for DIY projects, and we’ve often purchased Home Depot gift cards for our family members because it’s a fun and easy gift idea. After all, they have something for everyone!

Home Depot gift cards are a great idea for the do-it-herself-ers and handymen on your gift lists, and if you’re scrambling for some last minute ideas, this is a great solution! This year The Home Depot has 17 holiday gift card styles to choose from, including a scratch-n-sniff gingerbread man that can be decorated with stickers and a card that looks and feels like it is covered with the handyman’s wrapping paper – duct tape.

Maybe a gift card is too impersonal for you and you’re still struggling to come up with new holiday gift ideas? This year, leave the sweaters and fruit baskets behind and get the do-it-yourselfer in your life a selection of great tools, which can be affordable and practical gifts that last for years and never go out of style. The Home Depot offers hundreds of tools and home improvement products ensuring that you’ll find appropriate gifts for the new homeowner, weekend warrior or experienced pro. Featured in the photos below are the new Ryobi® Lithium-Ion 4 Piece 12V Kit (Price: $149, SKU 285-630) and the new Makita 10.8V Li-Ion 2 Piece Cordless Combo Kit (Price: $179, SKU 637-212).

What to choose….what to choose…We just moved into our first home six months ago, just four days before our first child was born. We haven’t been able to do much updating because of being tight on money. So my husband and I decided we’d like a new light fixture (it’s called Progress Lighting Alabaster Glass Collection Cobblestone) for our guest bedroom where the overhead lighting is too dark for the room. Or we’d use all the money to update four doors inside our home to regular doors with newer hardware. I don’t think they’ve been updated since the house was built in 1967. All the possibilities!!

I would easily spend $100.00 at Home Depot on Fusion
Red Oak Pre-Finished Clear-Coat Newel Base, I would buy 3 and pay the little extra. I need a deck/porch step, out the back of my new Mobile Home and I got to start somewhere. Thanks for the giveaway! Happy Holidays!

My 1 year old is currently sleeping in a crib in my walk-in closet because we started to makeover her room in our home, which was already in despair when we moved in recently. With the economy the way it is, Christmas taking a toll financially, and my husband currently a full-time student, we just haven’t had the means to finish it. If we won this card, everything would go to her room including paint, baseboards, lighting, a rug, stain for her outdated furniture, and if there was anything left over, I would buy a new fan for the bathroom. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
