Walmart Deals New 5/20/09

May 20, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 35 Comments

Wal-Mart.com USA, LLC

Here are the newest deals to be found at Walmart! For the full list of current deals check out the Walmart Deals page!

Some tips for shopping Walmart:

  • Walmart’s prices vary by region, even by store within the same area, but generally they are reasonably close to the listed price.
  • Walmart does accept Internet printable coupons. You may find it helpful to print out and carry a copy of the Walmart corporate coupon policy with you.
  • Walmart will price match competitor’s ads on like items.
  • The Walmart price guarantee policy is to give you $3 off the price the item scans for if it rings up for more than the shelf price. If the item is less than $3 you get it for FREE. One item per $3 discount.

New to couponing? Read up on what all of these abbreviations mean first in my quick reference guide.

Have you found any stellar bargains at Walmart lately? Please feel free to email me so I can share them (while giving you credit, of course)! Along the same lines, if you find a deal is no longer valid because the coupon has expired or reached its print limit, it’s very helpful if you let me know so I can keep it current. Thanks for your help!

Did you mean to use 4/20 or 5/20 for the date of this sale?

About the price guarantee policy, is this posted somewhere on Walmart’s website? Do you think they would stand by this policy if you realized that you were charged incorrectly after you leave the store?

I asked recently on the price guarantee when i had to go to customer service because they charged me the wrong price on an item, they said they don’t do that anymore. I also noticed they don’t have it posted by the checkout stands anymore. Is this a “store policy” or corporate?

Tammi, I’ve been over charged several times at my local walmart, usually for non-food items, but in each instance I’ve called the store and been told to just bring my receipt with me next time I come in and they’ll refund the money. I’ve never had an issue getting the refund back.

While I personally would not step foot inside a Walmart, just to let those of you in my area know, a friend of mine told me that she was told 2 days ago that Walmart in Simpsonville SC does not take internet printed coupons anymore. The cashier told her that they had quit taking them that day. It does not matter to me because I will never shop there again when I can get 98% of the items cheaper somewhere else with a doubled coupon. Booooo Walmart .

I went to the Milford, OH Walmart and bought:

Breyers 2/$4 ($1 each after coupon from 5/17 paper)
Velveeta Shells & Cheese $1.50 (50 cents after IP)
Yoplait yogurt cups, 40 cents each
Oscar Mayer 1 lb. lunchmeat $3 ($2.50 each after IP)

Our Sargento cheese q is 40 cents off of 1, so it cost me $1.38 each

I’ve talked with Wal-Mart corporate office and local mgmt and they haven’t done the $3 price guarantee for almost two years. It’s not in their printed online policies either.

They will tell you that they don’t do the 3.oo price adjustment anymore. Plus, I’ve also had wal-mart tell me that they are not accepting internet coupons at this time….. I think it all depends on who you get.

I love Meijer, down with WalMart! The one in my area has stuf waaay higher than the deals I find on dealseekingmom. I had all my q’s ready to match up to get the items at a great price, and for ex. the no-nonsense pantyhose were advertised as $1 and at my store they were $2 for the cheapest pair.

You should be able to print Wal-Mart’s coupon policy and take it with you to the store if you have difficulty with internet coupons. It varies widely by cashier & manager, but it should be difficult for them to argue with a corporate position you print & show them. I recommend printing once a month, so you have a “current” copy to show.

I know most people either love or hate Wal-Mart. For our family it’s great to use their Ad Match program since most other stores are about 45 mins. away…

here’s a blog I did on that lately.

I have a question, for what I think I am reading it looks like this –
if I take our local Galazy sales paper to walmart( 30 minutes away) and show it to them that ground chuck is $1.76 lb that walmart will match that price on ground chuck , but you have to have the sales paper with you for the sales match.
    Is this right?

Yes Nancy, you’re right. Just take the Ad and they will match it as long as the products are “exact” if the Ad says ground chuck 90/10 and Wal-mart sells 93/7 they won’t match it though.
    Hope that helps:)

I buy almost 90% of our groceries on AdMatch-No big stores around us unfortunately…

After a visit to my local Wal-Mart, I was scanning my receipt at home. I noticed that I had been charged more for my 12-pack of Dr. Pepper than I should have. I knew from the above “Shopping tips” about Walmart’s price guarantee policy. I called the 1800 Wal-Mart number and asked a representative what I should do to get my price adjusted as well as the $3 off. She told me that as of 29 APRIL 2008 that the Walmart price guarantee policy WAS NO LONGER EFFECTIVE!!!!!!! WHAT GIVES????? 2008…are you kidding?????

Hmm, I was told that they’re still doing it. I’ll check directly with my Walmart contact and confirm whether or n0t it is indeed still a policy.

I was reading in the blogs and someone said walmart does not accept internet coupons. That is wrong I use internet coupons all the time and my walmart and have never had a problem. I go every week and have at least 50 internet coupons and all of them scan.
