Question- if you buy 4 of the same product (in one transaction) that have a RR, will you get all 4 RR to print when you check out, or do you just get one? (I noticed that it says in the print below the ad “1 coupon printed per offer” and wasn’t sure how to interpret that.) Thanks for any help. And thanks for the great blog. I tell everyone I know to check out your site!

Laurie, that means you can only do one of each deal per transaction if you want the RRs to print. So for example, you couldn’t buy 4 Nivea Body Washes in one transaction because only one RR would print out. But you can combine different deals and earn RRs on all of them.

The soups advertised in my Wal-greens ad are for the Chicken Noodle and Tomatoe soups, however the coupon is for “cooking soups”. What defines a “cooking soup”?? What have you been able to use the coupon for?

You can make a $1 on the Bayer RR. I had a coupon for 1 off any Bayer aspirin product, I think found in S 3/22 but not sure. I did Bayer, Ecotrin, Nivea Body Wash for Women, spent $6.05 (MI 6% sales tax) and received 9.50 in RR that I used for news papers.

Since they were not busy I did 4 separate transactions, spending 24.20 and getting 38 in RR ($13.80 profit!!!).

Also checked the RR policy at my store before getting products. In Midland, MI the stores will allow as many COUPONS as you have products. They consider the RR coupons, so as long as you don’t have more coupons than products you will be all set. Some people were being told of a new “policy” that you can only have 1 RR per day. Always check with your store so you are not upset when/if things change.

Don’t the “in-ad” Q’s count toward the “total number of coupons/RR”? Cause a lot of people are suggesting using the hallmark tissue as a filler item, which isn’t making sense to me.

I’m new to this so please bare with me… *smile* I have NO rr’s to start with and I just want to do 3 of the deals – nivea, bayer, and the schick razor. What order should I buy them in and how many transactions should I do?

also I have enough coupons to do 2 of the nivea $1/1 deals.

I’m about to pull my hair out … thanks for any help!!!

Laurie, the in ad coupons don’t count toward your coupon total (correct me if I’m wrong ladies) – I think it just counts as a sale item.

Lori – I’m still pulling my hair out and I’ve been at this for several months!! Walgreens really frustrates me sometimes, but the deals keep me coming back. There’s no set order you need to do things in but make sure (1) that you don’t have more coupons than you have items – and RR’s count as coupons, (2) that you don’t use an RR to pay for the same item that you are buying, and (3) that you only buy one of each RR deal in each transaction. Hope that helps!

Oh i forgot to mention that the cashier and manager at Walgreens (who was there to show the cashier how to adjust the ecotrin coupon and was a man!) were very interested in how i come up with all these coupons and find ways to roll the rr’s to get out of there so cheap! So i told them about your website, and they both wrote it down so they could get in on the deals as well!!!! Keep up the good work! Thanks

Shannon — thanks for getting back to me. I think I have it figured out now that you’ve so kindly shared the “rules”. I messed up last week (plus the cashier had an attitude! lol) I paid for everything in one transaction and only got $2 in RR’s. I was not happy! Then I went to CVS and the cashier there actually knew what I was trying to do and even gave me more pointers. So that made me feel a lot better and gave me the courage to try again.

    thanks!

I had trouble with the RR this go round and wondered if anyone else did. I bought 2 boxes of band aids and one neosporin for a total of $10. I used $1 coupons for each item. However, my $4 RR didn’t print out. The cashier told me that I had to spend $10 after coupons for the RR to print. When the manager came up to void the transaction, he seemed puzzled as to why it didn’t print. He re-rang it without the coupons and gave me the RR. SO now I’m wondering if this is just a glitch in this particular store or if this is going to be company policy. (Yikes!)

I went to Walgreens today and bought the Ecotrin and the Bayer in one transaction. However, only a $2.50 register reward (for the Bayer) printed out. A two dollar off any Ecotrin future purchase printed but it was not the register reward I was expecting! I asked the manager and he said that was all the computer was printing. He was nice but didn’t seem to understand what I was asking even after I showed him the flyer which said $2 in Register Rewards should print. Any ideas?

Shannon, unfortunately you were wrong. I just went to Wag’s on the premise that the in-ad Q’s don’t count toward the total # of Q’s in transaction…and THEY DO! (those are surprise and frustration cap’s not yelling @ you)… b/c other blogs have agreed w/ what you wrote in your response. Even Mercedes had tissue/gift wrap as a “great filler”- well it can’t be a filler if you have to use a Q. Once I started using items like milk and gallons of drinking water (no coupons attached) as my fillers, I had NO trouble! And actually, you aren’t supposed to be able to use the RR on dairy if you read the fine print… so what good are these RR now that you can’t use them on the ESR items? When you use a filler, then you didn’t really get that previous item for FREE like you thought, if you had to buy a $1 candy bar you didn’t want or need, in order to get a portion of the savings. It’s so frustrating!

WL- the Campbells soups Q’s worked on the chick noodle and tomato. In my defense, I do cook with both! :) Also used them @ Walmart no problems.
Ashley, I read on another site that you can’t use the Bayer and the Ecotrin in the same or only 1 RR will print. No idea why. They are different mfrs.

Deanna, I wouldn’t worry much about the Ecotrins Qs that you missed. I got 2 (but did 4 transactions w/ ecotrin- so they’re obviously not printing w/ every transaction), and they’re for $2 off a 125 ct or higher (so we can’t use them with the current deal).

Ednelle- Ask them politely to adjust it down to $2 by entering as a misc. mfr. Q. Otherwise, if they don’t know how to do this/don’t feel comfortable taking direction from a customer, suggest they call their mgr over to assist.

I had so many problems at Walgreens last night. Can someone take me back to Couponing 101? The mgmt there is confusing me, just when I thought I understood. I bought the Scrubbing Bubbles shower cleaner (with a Free coupon – got it because I dropped mine and it broke before I even tried it) and band aid/benedryl deal (with $1 coupons off each of the 3 items). I didnt get any RR. Mgr came over did what she called “fake deals” and printed them out. it took her several trys to get them. I cant figure out why. then went over to cosmetics to get the Neutrogena sunblock. Buy 2 get 5 RR. Didnt get my RR again! Now Mgr is tired of me and Says “You wont get RR if you use any Q’s because the mfgr is giving the RR and it is like using double Q’s on the item.” I say but if I use a P&G RR on a Neutrogena item, it’s not. She says “It doesnt matter, computer handles them all the same way and you wont get a RR if you use any Q’s” Based on my experience last night, I beleive her. Is this true?

THE FIRST THING I WOULD LIKE TO MENTION IS TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE WATCHING HOW MANY THEY ARE ALLOWING OF RR’S PER ITEM PER HOUSEHOLD… SECOND I WOULD LIKE TO MENTION I LIVE IN FORT WAYNE INDIANA AND REALIZED THAT MY RR’S DID NOT PRINT FOR ONE OF MY ITEMS WHEN I INQUIRED THE CASHIER SAID THEY HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH ALL THE RR’S PRINTING. SHE SAID SOMETIMES IF THEY RUN THE SAME RR’S SPECIAL FOR THE SAME ITEM IT WILL CONFLICT IN THE LIMITATION PER HOUSEHOLD THING.

Yesterday I had no problem with any of the transactions. I was able to use my coupons and get all of the RRs. The only snag was the Ecotrin coupon, the cashier said she couldn’t adjust the coupon because the item was on sale. I did not feel well so didn’t ask for the manager to help. But I did get RRs for the Ecotrin.

Hi, I am kind of new at this and I have a quick question. The Bayer Breeze or Contour Blood Glucose Meter, $14.99 on sale, use the coupon which makes it free + $5 RR. Okay, there is also a rebate in the box. Can you send in a rebate for something your receipt shows you paid $0 oop? I don’t want to be dishonest and cheat the company, but if it’s a money maker, I’m all for that as well. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Laurie the in ad coupons do not count towards your coupons. Look at my transactions from above #2. I bought two items that i had MQ for so i had to get the wrapping paper( which was an in ad coupon)$.39 so i could use my rr! You can’t use more coupons and rr’s for more items that are purchased!Did that make sense! lol
    “can’t use 2 coupons and 1 rr on only 2 items”! :P
And my filler item is always less than .50 if i need one and usually something i can use anyways and i’d rather spend the .39 cents for the paper than $3.00( not using my rr!

well, i went to a different walgreens and tried to do the ecotrin coupon along with the rr but the coupon wouldn’t scan. i politely ask the casher to adjust it for the sale price but she didn’t know how to do it so she called a manager. the store manager said he can’t do that because the coupon is for 2.25 and they get the full value of it. this is my second time getting rejected for the ecotrin coupon (at two different locations). any other suggestions?

Shannon & Deanna- I read the fine print on the RR and you’re RIGHT- it IS supposed to be the total of just MFR Qs and RR, not Wag’s Q’s! I still don’t understand why the register would beep when the cashier tried to scan the RRs at the end of the transaction… that is, until I added my non-Q fillers (milk/water)… then, as I said, no problems. Any ideas gals? I really need to figure this out…

Deanna, may I ask: do your items (which have in-ad Qs like the tissue/gift wrap) ring up as sale price or do they have to scan the in-ad Q to bring it down to sale price? In our store, the items that have in-ad Qs aren’t even MARKED as such on the shelf! Very frustrating and confusing.

I went to the walgreens in vancouver wa. I had a terrible experince. I was wondering if any had any suggestions. I emailed walgreens and no response. The cashier kept saying what I was doing was wrong because I had two orders I paid for one then was using the rr to pay for another. He said it was terrible should not be allowed accussed me of going to other stores, (which I have not it was my first time trying the rr program). Then more aless said I was a theif. I was so embarressed there were people behind me in line my children were with me. Did I do it wrong can you not have two seperate orders? Any one else had this trouble.
