In my P&G there is a $1/1 coupon for Oral-B Advantage including the 1-2-3. It worked fine this morning without a beep. Unlike at Rite Aid where the guy wouldn’t scan half my coupons (new guy) and I was just like forget it left him pretty shocked when I just grabbed my coupons and left.

I’m not clear on these RRs. Are these coupons you can use to purchase anything on your next shopping trip to Walgreens?

Anything but giftcards , alcohol, tobacco, lottery, prescriptions, that type of thing. At Walgreens with RRs (or WAGS) you must have at least the same number of items as coupons (WAGS plus manufacture). So then you need filler items cheap stuff… lately I’ve been using these pencils that are .10 in the clarence area.

I just found your website recently and LOVE it. Thanks for the post on Walgreens and what to buy, coupon to use and how much register rewards you’ll receive. My question is when you purchase everything that you listed and use the coupons. How will the RR print? Will they print 1 at a time or all on one RR?
    THANKS:)

K-clip, they will print individually for each deal, so you should receive 9 different Register Rewards.

I heard you can use register rewards at Jewel. Does anyone know if that is true? Where else can I use my register rewards?

I have been twice this morning and the Gilette Register Rewards didn’t print out either time. Just a heads up! When I let the manager know they ended up giving me $6+ in cash, which was even better than a RR.

PLEASE NOTE: The Robittusin To Go coupon EXCLUDES the 2-pack/count ones. Yes, it will ring up, but that store will not get their $1 back! The honest thing to do is not use it. :)

My store has a ruling that only one RR item per household per week…. I was like since when is this the rule its always been per transaction or per person. My teenager was upset that I had woken her up in the morning to go with me. Normally she does one and I do one then every few months when Im in the city (Detroit) I swing by salvation armys rehab center and drop everything off.

    I have a love/hate relationship with Walgreens.. ;-)
They have some great RR deals, but its really tough to roll your RR’s over and keep them going, though I seem to have done better lately, especially with the cold & flu products. (Cold & flu season, here we come armed & ready!) :P
Its much easier to turn around and just use them like cash, but then again, the bad news is that you can only use one RR per transaction according to my store. Im assuming thats the same everywhere?
The good news to that is that I have 2 local Walgreens and I pass by one twice a day and if I need to I can detour less than a mile for the other. ;)
    Thanks for sharing!! <3

Kim, you should be able to use more than one per transaction as long as the total amount used is less than the total of your transaction. You also have to make sure that the total number of coupons used including RRs is equal to or less than the number of items in the transaction. Does that make sense?

I thought the Robitussin DM, Emergen-C, Chapstick, Vaseline, Gillette Fusion, and Halls deals were monthly deals beginning 10/1 through 10/31? If so, how do we include these deals in the $5/$25 scenario if the $5/25 coupon is only good on 9/29 and 9/30?

Laura and Teresa– Those monthly deals began today, Sunday, September 27! So you don’t have to wait until October 1st for those offers. I picked my stuff up this morning at my Walgreens and had no trouble.

Ok. Today was the first time I tried to work these RR deals. I went to one Walgreens this morning and the catalina was down. Well, I had to go ahead and buy my Fiber One cereal b/c every store that has put it on sale in the last few weeks runs out pretty quick. So then I go to a different Wags this afternoon. When I tried to use the 1.50 off coupon on the Vaseline she told me if I used it then the RR would not print. Is this true? I ended up spend way more than I hoped today and now I have coupons I probably won’t be able to use, i.e. the lotion. I would normally never spend that kind of money even with the 1.50 off. Help please!

I’m not sure why so many people are being told lately that their RRs won’t print if they use a coupon, but this has never been the policy, and as far as I know it has not changed. Walgreens customer service is very responsive, so I recommend contacting them so they can clear up the store’s misconceptions.

Today, I had a very hard time with 2 Walgreens in the Ft. Lauderdale area. At one, I was only allowed to use one manufacturers coupon per item, and one register rewards coupon towards my whole transaction–I couldn’t use all my RR coupons. PLUS, the cashier said since I used a MF coupon on the items, my NEW RR wouldn’t print out because of it! I wrote Walgreens a long letter, and will let you know their response. It’s really not a “reward” if they limit how many of your own rewards you can use. It’s also false advertising if they say you will get an RR, and it doesn’t print out. CVS is so fair–you can use as many extra bucks as you have saved up, plus use MF coupons, plus you always get the EB back for the week. Walgreens will never compare to CVS if they don’t do the same! :o)

Thanks for your answer Tara.. Im going to be asking another manager from the more friendly store re: using more than one RR at a time as I was told it was not permitted by 2 managers of one store..
And yes, you made perfect sense concerning the number of coupons (including RRs) must be equal to or less than the number of items purchased and the $$ amount.
    I appreciate your help! :D

Some of the registers have apparently been “rigged” (couldn’t think of a better word!) to not print a RR if you are just buying that item with a coupon. In other words, if I just buy the Vaseline and use the $1.50 Q it may not print out the RR. BUT, if I buy the Vaseline, and something else I am going to use a coupon with (plus a filler so I can use an RR) it should print out the RR b/c it doesn’t “know” what you used the coupon for. Does that make sense? Hope it helps.

From now on I always buy more than one item so I always get my RR. And yes, both my stores have told me I can only use 1 RR per transaction. But I still manage to get good deals. Not sure if it is corporate or just the stores.

I am so lucky here in NC! I NEVER have these issues at Wags. I use coupons for every item I buy (if I have one) and pay with RR’s and receive all my RR’s due. The cashiers are very nice too.

Today when I went to Walgreens I tried to do multiple transactions to get the different deals and use my RR right away. It took some time and some fillers but my cashier was patient and helpful… the thing she told me (sorta makes sense) is that if you get a P&G RR (says on the bottom of the coupon), you can’t use it to buy more p&G stuff. Also you can’t use a RR for sales tax. So for instance, my subtotal was 3.44 and my $3 RR wouldnl’t work. I added some dawn dish soap for .99 for a filler and then my RR worked. I hope I wasn’t scammed – but always need dish soap! And had a .25 coupon for that anyway.

One other thing– I used the coupon from a P&G mailer for $5 off an olay body wash when you buy a venus razor system (7.99 in the ad). Had to get the big body wash (was on the shelf for 8.99 but rang up 5.50) for it to work, and got 4 RR. Later I realized I probably could’ve used a coupon for the razor as well. The coupon I got in the mailer was a little confusing, but it’s for free body wash, not for $5 off the razor, so a razor coupon could have worked. oh well, next time! And maybe some of you can benefit. :)

None of the RRs were labeled on the shelves. Is that normal? The girl told me they didn’t label them but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them stickered before… and a lot of the sales prices weren’t marked on the shelves either. Maybe someone just falling down on the job.

Coupon roulette! you never know what you’re gonna get.

It seems like a ton of people were told they couldn’t use coupons and still get a RR today!! .It even happened to me at store I don’t shop at alot. I already know this is not true in my area so voided my whole transaction. Turns out their Catalina system went down nationwide for a bit this afternoon when they tried to fix the oral-B toothbrush RR. I felt bad because the Asst Mgr was trying to tell a newbie couple that they couldn’t use q’s and get the RR’s also. I tried to tell them quietly this wasn’t true but they looked a bit confused. I wish they wouldn’t tell this mfg Q/RR story when they’re just ignorant to the actual situation.

I went to Walgreen’s last week and purchased some of the RR reward deals – the roots of nature hair care product (they didn’t have a label for that with the RRs), carefree item, and toothbrushes, plus a couple sharpies on clearance for .25. The person looked like a manager who rang me up and he mentioned he didn’t think the RRs would print up for the carefree item since I had the coupon with it, I just figured we’d see since I paid less than $2.00 OOP (with other register rewards – $5 for the One-A-Day drink mixes and $2.50 for the thermapatch I got from another Walgreens earlier). Well, they did all print out – $6 for the Roots of Nature, $2 for the Carefree (they must not like to make them $1.99), & $2 for the toothbrushes. I was happy they did and I think he was a little surprised.

I called corporate and they told me that if you use a manufacturer’s coupon when purchasing an item that is supposed to generate a RR it will not print. She also told me that how RR are used is really up to each store’s manager. For those of you who were able to use a coupon and still get a RR that’s great. I guess I’ll have to get more creative next week and see if I can have more success.
