Target: Exclusive Home Mailers

September 14, 2010 by Beth @ In Good Cents 44 Comments

Since recently including many of the Target Home Mailers in the weekly Target deals, I’ve been getting e-mails and questions about where to get these coveted mailers.  Well, I have some bad news.  Target Corporate sends the home mailers to randomly selected zip codes within a certain mile radius of of their stores.  That means their is no sure way to make the list.  However, I do know that, like with many things, if you don’t use them, you’ll lose them.

While many theories fly around often, from making a purchase in the photo center or creating a gift registry to getting a Target Red Card, none of them are a 100% sure way to get on the exclusive list.  However,  I did a little digging and a source of mine at Target Corporate recently hinted that almost everyone, if not everyone, who makes a purchase online gets added to the mailing list.

While I don’t get the mailers, my local Target does sometimes have older home mailers or coupon booklets available in-store.  Sometimes I find them at the pharmacy, while other times they’ll be near the bakery, deli, cash register, or customer service, so keep your eyes open while shopping.  Until then, you’ll just have to cross your fingers that you  make the list.

If you’ve made a purchase online, do you get the coveted home mailers?  We’d love to know, since many of us long to be on the list too!

I think they go in cycles by neighborhoods. We have received some coupon mailers and our whole neighborhood received them. But we did not receive these recent ones.

I have no idea how I get them, but I currently have 3! One is a baby one, one is for Up and Up items and one is random booklet of coupons (bounty, bounce, carefree, etc). I have registered w/them for 1 wedding, 2 babies and have bought stuff online. I use my coupons always, so I wonder if that has something to do w/it as well.

I’m pretty sure the mailers are random. I have done everything on the list except get a RedCard and I live about 5 miles from a Super Target and a regular Target. My MIL, who has done none of those things and lives about 45 miles from any Target, gets them regularly.

I started receiving the mailers a month or so ago and I have never ordered from Target.com. They are remodeling the Target near me though. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I live very close to a Target store and I have ordered things online….for weddings, usually. I get the coupons and LOVE them….and I am always sure to use them. I do not use my Target card, even though I have one….it almost seems like they know me…out of a booklet of coupons, there might be two I won’t use.

I receive coupon booklets regularly — for years. I don’t believe I’ve ever ordered anything online thru them. I do not have a Super Target anywhere near me. I did, however, years ago, sign up for the RedCard & Target VISA (which I do not use). My oldest is in college and youngest 5th grade, so I’ve been out of the baby department for a long time.

I have ordered online and have not received any coupons in my snail mail.

BTW, something I realized after I already bought something online at Target – if you have AAA membership, and order thru their AAA site to then go to Target.com, you get 10% off your Target order.
I had ordered 2 printer cartridges for about $80, and if I had used my AAA link, I would have saved $8 right then. oh well…next time.

I love these coupon booklets and I’ve been getting them for over a year now. I don’t have a red card, never done a registry there, or used the photo lab. I have bought stuff online (even though they’re less than a mile away, sometimes it’s a better deal on an item with free shipping and a Big Crumbs rebate). Sometimes I get baby ones which we’re outgrowing. Sometimes I get the Up & Up ones and my favorite is the general one with lots of various items. I have noticed though that some of the same coupons are online on their website, so even if you don’t get the coupon booklets, you can still access some great coupons online.

I get the coupon booklets…as does my mom. (We do not have a target red card, do not use the photo center at target and have never had a Target gift registry). We did sign up for e-mail alerts during our online purchases so maybe that’s it. ??

I think it’s also important to point out that the same mailers are not always sent out to everyone on the list. For example, I get the mailers at my house in Indiana, my friend who lives in the same town as me also gets the mailers, and my mom over in Ohio gets the mailers. Well, recently both my friend and my mom gave me their copies of the most recent mailer and I noticed that while my mom’s mailer matched mine, my friend’s mailer had several different coupons in it, even though the cover looked the same and we live in the same small town. So who knows? I do have a Redcard, and I’ve created both wedding and baby registries at Target. I’ve also ordered online, but that was well over a year ago.

I don’t remember ever making a purchase on-line — but I get most of the coupon mailers.

I know I have created a baby registry before (lots of deals and specials when you do this) and I get special baby mailers with coupons.

I think I have also created a wishlist, maybe for one of the boys birthdays?

I’m in Columbus, OH and try to use ’em so I don’t lose ’em!

I used to get them but don’t anymore. And I have recently made several purchases at Target.com. Still haven’t gotten another mailer.

I have ordered online only once or twice… I have had 2 baby registries and I have a Target Visa and a Target Debit Card. I fill all my children’s prescriptions and mine at Target, and finally, I am getting the Pharmacy mailers, which I dont care much for, but thats it
