Target: Embark Lunch Tote Money Maker

July 20, 2010 by Beth @ In Good Cents 13 Comments

Keep your eyes peeled at your local Target for select Embark Lunch Totes on sale for as low as $3.79 this week.  Some have notices on them about offers enclosed which include a few hot coupons and a mail-in-rebate for a FREE 6-month trial of Parent’s Magazine.

It gets better!  Select to refuse the magazine and they’ll mail you a check for the value,$4.96, turning this deal into a $1.17 money maker.  Not bad at all for a lunch tote!

Don’t need it?  Keep in mind that many local charities are currently collecting for back-to-school and would love the donation.

Thanks, Janet!

Rebates have to be a decent size amount for me, not worth it when stamps cost so much :-)

So a check for $4.96 (not to mention a PROFIT of $1.17 and a new lunch tote) is not worth it?

Cool thanks! I was headed to Target tomorrow anyway! I was upset that I missed the clearance on the cooler totes a few weeks ago but this will make up for it slightly!

Nice bag…some coupons inside. My store had them for $3.99 (Central WI). Our prices are always higher for some reason!

I got a similar deal to this at Toys R Us. They have a deal where if you buy a book bag, you get a matching lunch sack (up to $9.99) for free. When I received the lunch sack today, I looked inside and it had a the same Parents Magazine coupon although it is a Thermos brand product.

Picked one up yesterday for 3.99 here in PA. But how do I refuse the subscription? Do I write something on the postcard addressed to Parents Magazine?

Kelly, there should be a box to check that says “refuse” and a little note out to the side that says you’ll be send the cost of the magazine instead.

Thanks! No box but instead some fine print with a different address to send the card to.

Has anyone had trouble cashing the $4.96 rebate check?

What does the card actually look like? Is it a postcard or what? All I had were the coupons, on that was an manufactures coupon for the 6 month Parent’s deal. Is my bag missing the card?
