Target: Beach Towels As Low As $0.50

March 22, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski 55 Comments

Target reportedly has beach towels in the Dollar Spot section priced at $2.50. Use the $2/1 Beach Towels printable coupon to score some for just $0.50!

Locate this coupon easily by clicking on “Home” on the left-hand sidebar.

Target Beach Towels, $2.50
$2/1 Beach Towels printable coupon
$0.50 after coupon!

Please note that the image above is just for illustration. I’m not sure exactly what the Dollar Spot beach towels look like.

Thanks, Clippin’ With Carie!

Funny enough….I was at Target just this afternoon and was in line behind a gal who was trying to do this very deal. No less than 4 managers came to look at the coupon and tell her it was a no go as it wouldn’t scan.
She kept politely insisting that the coupon is for any beach towel.
    Their reply “….but not these….”

By this time I was checking out in a neighboring lane and as I was leaving I overheard her saying “….OK, well go ahead and call corporate…..I have all day….” To her credit, she was *extremely upbeat and polite* the entire time.

This is the first time I have shopped in Target in months…..and after witnessing this silliness it will probably be as long before I shop there again…..

More power to you folks who have success at Target…..

I always have problems with the target close to my house, so i drive out further to another target that doesnt give me problems at all with my coupons. I got the towel deal with no problem, the coupon didnt beep or nothing, it went right through. They had them in solid colors, pink & blue. I got the pink one. Also you can only print the target beach towel coupon one time only per computer. It doesnt allow you to print two on one computer. And yes it’s one towel per coupon. ;)

if you aren’t getting the coupon to come up, when you go to the Target coupons page on the left side of the page there are “sections” of coupons either click select all, or go to Home. The coupon is on the Home section.

I was able to get a towel today but the coupon didn’t scan. The cashier nicely pushed it through.

I just went to the Target closest to my house and no one would do it for me. So, I went to the other Target that’s about 10 minutes further and they did it with no problem. I actually had 10 coupons and thought I was getting 10 towels, just only had 8 and they were free. 8 x 2.5 = 20, 10 coupons @ $2 = $20! The only downside is that they only had pink and blue, but for free who cares:)

I used this today at my target and the coupon beeped. The cashier tried to give me a hard time but she put it through. I kinda hate it when they give me a hard time so I’m going to probably pull back on doing these kinds of deals along with the free travel sized items. They seem to always make an issue and its kind of embarrassing.

At my Target, the cashier told me that they now need to read every coupon and verify that they are valid for the items purchased. She conversationally explained that trial and travel sized items are not reimbursed by coupons, so the cashiers are now asked to check and double check. She even called over another cashier to double check the $1 off Johnson and Johnson coupon when I used it to buy the J&J Buddies soap. Just an fyi.

they wouldnt let me use the J&J coupon on the buddies soap the last time, so I stopped trying that one too. I’ve also been getting issues doing the trial coupons at walmart. It’s not worth it to me to be humiliated.

I thought that it was really strange that my cashier was reading every coupon. They did it at my store today. I figure that this wont last very long as the line was getting very long as she struggled to ready all my coupons…Guess they now have to hire employees that can read fast.

I normally use 30-40 coupons when I shop so I carry Target’s coupon policy in my purse because I *always* have problems. I’m polite because it’s not the cashier’s fault the company is trying to discourage coupon use, but I do ask for a manager on duty and tell them I’ll just call the Guest Relations department. They’re always shocked that I have it programmed in my cell phone and usually allow me to use my coupons at that point.

    RiRi,

You go girl! I think target stinks. They always give me a hard time to where I dont go there anymore, unless it is a deal I just cant pass up.

I am lucky that I have a great Target near me. They are very nice and have no problem with the printable coupons. If one doesn’t scan, they just put in the dollar amount manually. The only problem I had recently was with a Kashi one and the cashier offered to do a separate transaction so I could get the discount. I am going later this morning with the towel coupon and a few J&Js. Hopefully it will work just as well.

The target that is 25 miles from my house is way better about coupons, than the one that is closer (still 17 miles). I would rather buy one fo the $10 beach towels with this coupon though, b/c they are better quality and will last for years. I’d rather pay $8 and get a few years out of a towel than .50 cents and mat not even get a whole summer out of it.

I used this coupon last night at the Target in Milford, OH. After a long discussion about the coupon the manager finally pushed it through. My thoughts are if it is not meant for every beach towel in the store then they need to post the restrictions on the bottom.

I think it is so funy that the store would not question $2 off of a $10 ITEM…EVER, but if you get $2 off a $2 item it’s tragic.
They are out $2 either way. The bonus to the store is that if they let me have the $2 off, I will shop that store more often- even for non-coupon purchases.

This information is absolutely untrue. The stores will be reimbursed for coupons used on trial and travel size items as long as they are not specifically excluded in the terms on the coupon.

My cousin is a manager at Target here in Metro Detroit. He was telling me Target is really going to start cracking down on coupons again majorly. He was telling me that people have been coming in and buying tons of stuff with coupons then returning it all. He was saying everything from bath soap to make-up. Garbage bags and dog treats. It was pretty sad last week I had to return a couple pairs of pants I bought my son that didn’t fit, in front of me was a man returning Scrubbing Bubbles, Revlon make-up, Hefty Trash Bags, Febreeze, Tide, and more. Don’t want it was his reason, but after he walked away the service girl made a comment to another girl the guy walked away with nearly $50 extra. My cousin told me its becoming a huge thing for people to do.
So I guess at this moment I can’t really blame the Target stores around me for how they are acting. It is sad and stupid to do something like that. I’m sure it also cost them time to not only do the return, but then to restock the product. I’ve returned stuff before like formula because my husband bought the wrong one and I really would’ve just exchanged it. But never just for the money. It gives people who really work hard to do this a bad name, and makes us all look like we are out to… I dont want to say steal, but steal or rip off places and companies.

    ^^^^^^

    I thought Target wouldn’t take returns w/out a receipt….?

(as mentioned above, I only shop their very rarely as there is usually some debacle involved in the trip)

If they do take returns w/out a receipt, maybe they shouldn’t….this would avoid the problems mentioned by “Dizzy” above….

Regarding the money returns – it says on the receipt if you used a coupon. It just goes to show why things are harder in the ‘ghetto’. I live in an economically depressed area now and everything is a battle. Every coupon, every discount, you have to check your bags at most stores (not Target). When I lived downstate I tried to check my bag and the clerk looked at me like I was insane! Downstate, I never had a problem getting coupons, discounts, substitutes, etc. Anyhow, I think I am going to start checking out at guest services when I have coupons b/c I am tired of the hemming and hawing of people in line behind me when the cashier calls someone about the coupon.

Went to target yesterday….Its a NO GO on the $2.50 towels….manager said it is for the $5.99 towles in the bath section. I suggested they put a sign up saying they will not honor the coupon on the towles.

The guy had a receipt and everything, the only coupons they don’t refund is Target ones from what my cousin was telling me. He said it was weird to see men come in with a receipt from the next Target down the road and $100 in cosmetics. They aren’t trained to subtract coupons, but he told me they are cracking down on people using them in bulk because this is happening.

Oh..I see what your saying…Man. coupons are reinbursed to the store, so they don’t take those off when returning something…I returned something one time to Wal-Mart that I used a coupon on and the lady told me they don’t subtract coupons from the receipt!!! Darn, that’s ashame!!! I guess hard times call for desprete measures!
