DEAL OVER Steals: Dream Town Rose Petal Cottage $29.99 + FREE Shipping

December 4, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski 15 Comments

The Rose Petal Cottage collection is totally one of the cutest toy lines out there for little girls right now.

rose-petal-cottageI just might have gone a little nuts buying this adorable house and all the accessories for my girls last year, but the look on their face Christmas morning was priceless and it’s a toy that they still play with every single day.

I might add that I paid a MUCH higher price.

Wow, that went really quick. You might keep checking back to see if they lower it again, but for now the price has been raised to $59.99.

Right now you can get the Rose Petal Cottage at an absolute steal for just $29.99, and even better, there’s FREE shipping on it! This 63% off the retail price, so even if you add an accessory or two, you’re still getting a great deal. I’m sure they won’t last long at this price, so you’ll want to get in on this ASAP.

I’ve gotta say, I’m irked. I bought this yesterday afternoon on Amazon after the price dropped to $39.99. No more than a few hours after I purchased it it droppped anoter $10. I wasn’t able to cancel my order b/c it had already “entered shipping.” I contacted Amazon about receiving the $10 credit for it and got an email this morning telling me that they no longer do that as of Sept 1. It basically said, “too bad for you.”

I’m not pleased. I still got a good price on it, but that extra $10 would be nice to have. Especially since my budget per kid was $50, so that would get my little gal one more little thing, you know? I guess I’m annoyed because they used to refund (I used it a few time last Christmas) and whammo, now they don’t. It was a MAJOR selling point of buying on Amazon for me, and I did all of my holiday shopping there in years past. Unless something is a fabulous deal, I’ll be avoiding Amazon from now on.

I’m really sorry to hear that, Katie. I used that option frequently as well. I used that site (can’t recall the name at the moment) that tracked my purchases and emailed me if the price dropped after purchase. It’s too bad that they discontinued it because I think they will lose a lot of business over it.

I just wanted to come back and update in case it might help someone else out. I spoke with customer service at Amazon and they let me know that if I refuse the shipment from UPS the item (cottage I bought at $39) will go back to Amazon and they will cancel the order and refund my $$.

So now I have to decide. I think I will order the second one at $30, and pray that I don’t miss the UPS man tomorrow.

I did want to say that they were very helpful (though a little difficult to understand) and that the free shipping was VERY fast. I ordered yesterday afternoon and it’s scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Wow!

I’m so glad, Katie! You don’t have to “miss” the UPS man. Actually, if you do miss him, he’ll probably just leave it on your porch or try to redeliver. They have to make so many attempts before they can return it to the sender. When it’s delivered just tell him you want to refuse it, and he’ll mark it as such and take it back with him. Or if he does leave it, just mark out your address and write refused on it, and you can drop it off at any UPS store or drop box.

Thanks so much. I just ordered it for my two little girls, I know that they will love it. By the way, when I went back to get the link to send to my friend, the price was listed as 59.99.

It’s back up to $59.99, I can’t believe I missed this. I saw your post this morning and was going to buy it this afternoon and now it’s back up! Too bad for me, my little girls would have loved it but $59.99 is a little too high. Guess I will have to be quicker next time.

Whoa, that was quick! So sorry you missed it, Bonnie. The Cherry Blossom Market is still marked down, so you might consider that. I actually just decided to order it for my girls. I think I love playing with this stuff almost as much as they do!

The link is listing the price at $59.99 – is there a discount or something I’m missing?

Thank you for explaining how to refuse the package. I ordered the mommy gotta go doll yesterday at $37.99 and a couple hours later it went to $29.99. Amazon had some awesome deals last night. I went over my list of toys I bought on Black Friday and will be returning several things. I will be saving about $50.

Keep watching it. I bought it on Sunday for 49.99. Then saw it Wednesday at the 29.99 price and e-mailed them. They said they did not have the price guarantee, but since I had recently ordered and there was a significant price difference they would make a one time exception for me. They also gave a rundown on why they do not have the price guarantee. Which boils down to suppliers special offers and inventory demand.

It’s back up to almost $73 now! Ugh! I should have moved faster but I had to see if I could rearrange furniture and make room for it!
