Redbox Free Rental Code By Text Message

June 24, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 17 Comments

FREE Redbox Rental Code

Get a free Redbox DVD rental when you text FIT to 414141! These codes will be user specific, so don’t share (unless you want to). Code will be valid through August 31st.

It’s possible that you already need to be signed up to receive the monthly free rental codes by text message to receive this offer. I’ve never received a text message from them other than the free rental codes.

Wondering just how exactly to use these Redbox codes? Check out Redbox 101 for step-by-step instructions!

(Thanks, Cherry Picker!)

Hey Tara, I saw this deal about four days ago, and it wasn’t working. Deal was dead before it started. Plus texting to that number signs ppl up for something, and we don’t know what. I think it is a scam, or a deal that didn’t make it very far.

Hmm, I tested it, and it worked for me. 414141 is the number that I always received the weekly Monday codes at, and it’s the number that I get the monthly codes from now.

Maybe you already have to be regsitered with the Redbox SMS network before you can receive it. You can do that here:

    https://www.redbox.com/Help/Signup.aspx

I’ll update the post to add this info.

I just did it and it worked for me. It gives you a one time code and then asks you to reply with “Y” to continue receiving codes once a week at standard messaging rates or “STOP” to end it.

Is this considered a “premium” text? I have verizon, and any kind of text that’s considered “entertainment”, is a 9.99 charge on my cell bill. Just wondering, because I would love a free code!

Gosh, I don’t know, Abbie. I don’t think it is, but I can’t say for sure. It sounds like they might mean adult entertainment. Maybe you could call Verizon and ask.

The last code from the survey (good for 6/22-6/23) did NOT work for me. I tried a few times. Too bad I don’t have a cell phone to sign up for this one!

I’ve found that this website ALWAYS has codes that work when renting:
    https://www.insideredbox.com/redbox-codes/
Just take a list of them and keep trying if one doesn’t work.

I’m with Michelle. The last code I did for the survey didn’t work for me either. And I texted this one in and never recieved a response. Then I tried again a couple of days later and it said I had already recieved the message. Darn.

I also did the survey and the code I got didn’t work. But I’ll keep trying when I find new codes.

Hey there — nice to meet you!
