Meijer: Dole Salad + Naturewell Hamburger Money Maker

June 26, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 25 Comments

Meijer Dole Salad and Naturewell Hamburger Money MakerCheck out the great deal that Courtney from 1-2-3 Save emailed me!

Meijer has a Catalina deal running right now on Dole Bagged Salad and Naturewell Meats. You’ll earn $3 off your next shopping order when you buy two salads and one meat.

Here’s where it gets really good. Meijer has both the salad and the hamburger on sale this week. Pick up one of the “Healthy Living Naturally” May/June booklets in the meat department, and you can do the following transaction.

Buy (2) Dole Blend Salads at $0.75 ea.
Buy 1/2-lb. of Naturewell Hamburger at $1.10

Use $1.50/2 Dole Salad Blends (Healthy Living Naturally booklet)
Earn $1.90 on this transaction after coupon and Catalina!

The best part is it’s a money maker even if you can’t find the coupon and you can roll it!

Yep, you can then do a second, third, fourth, etc. transaction using the same scenario above, pay with the Catalina earned previously, and another one will print out. Courtney rolled it 8 times – you can see her haul in the photo above!

Check out some other Meijer weekly deals here.

Is this for all the Meijers? Or just some? I can’t seem to find the sale items for Naturewell or Dole Salads in any of my flyers. Hope it’s all Meijers because this is really a great savings.

Oops! I found the Dole Salad – it’s the iceberg lettuce for 75 cents- it’s not with the produce page.

Just a quick note – I visited Naturewell’s site and signed up for an account and then wrote a ‘story’ about Naturewell. They gave me a coupon for 50 cents off the beef (you can then come back 30 days later and tell another story and print off another coupon). This might add to the good deal!

We have had several people go for this deal this afternoon and Meijer had ended the sale on the Naturewell beef. Apparently, in our area, it was an unadvertised sale for a limited amount of product. So double check to make sure it is still on sale at your store.

I just got home from Meijer (in Lima, Ohio), and this deal was still in effect. The only difference was that the Healthy Living booklet coupon was $1.00, not $1.50. I took loads of pics of my “haul”, I’ll have to post them! I added up my reciepts – I spent a total of $27.27, and I saved $100.09!! Not too shabby, huh? :)

You feed the deer with that much lettuce. I just went and used this deal. It was awesome.. I got 16 bags of lettuce and 8, 1/2 lb containers of the ground beef. I might even go back tomorrow for more.. I made money off of it. Thanks for the tip.

I’m heading to my Meijer after I get off of work at 1pm today, Saturday 27th. I sure hope I can get those same deals. I’ll keep only 1 or 2 bags of lettuce (I’m the only one who eats it), give 1 or 2 bags to my fixed-income mom, offer some to a neighbor who’s also a single mom, and whatever bags are left will go to my neighborhood food pantry! This is a great deal, thanks for the heads up!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wouldn’t the person at the meat counter think something was up if you went back 10 times asking for 1/2 lb. of hamburger every time?. Can you do it all at one time or do you have to keep going back? Please give me more info. on how to work this.

Christine, their job is to serve the customer. I don’t think it’s that unusual for a customer to ask for several half-pounds of hamburger individually wrapped. That way you can freeze them separately for multiple meals. I’d just ask for 5 lbs. of Naturewell hamburger meat (or however much you want total) wrapped in 1/2-lb. portions.

I have done the deal about 6 times- I usually do 2 transactions per visit. Right now I am so grateful that I live 1 minute from Meijer.

Christina- first I would go look for the Healthy Living Naturally booklet. That helps me to decide how much meat to purchase. With the coupon, I know I can get about 1.25 pounds of meat. So I just ask for 2 pkgs. with approx. that much meat in each one. Then grab 4 bags of lettuce (2 per transaction) – I look at the price on the meat- say it is $2.75- I know the coupon will make the lettuce free- so I find a filler for atleast 25 cents (like candy necklaces) and that will take my total to $3.00- so after the $3 on your next shopping order catalina- you pay nothing. (Your first transaction I would do the 1/2lb of meat to make your first out of pocket cheaper!) Hope that makes sense!

I did one transaction last night in Findlay, Ohio and it worked! Thanks for the great tip. There is a tearpad near the salad dressings with $2.00 off fresh meat when you buy a Kraft salad dressing and 2 other products, like mayo or Kraft BBQ sauce. With all the coupons and Meijer Mealbox coupons, you could make this an even sweeter deal.

I have to say THANK YOU for letting me know about this deal. We went this morning and ‘tried out’ the deal only once just to make sure it would go through. My store still had the meat on sale AND I found the booklets with the $1.50 coupon. But here’s the clincher:
I also used the meat coupon(I printed out several of them), so I bought:
    1 lb beef
2 fancy dole salad blends (not just the iceberg)
used $1.50 coupon/$.50 cent coupon doubled on meat/ and 1 $3.00 Meijer coupon that I had previously gotten.

    I paid 5 cents!

Then I went on to do this 4 more times, so I ended up leaving with 5 lbs of beef & 10 bags of lettuce for free AND I have another $3.00 catalina coupon to use next week!

Whoo hoo! My husband said that he was picturing me like a lioness bringing home an antelope for dinner after the thrill of the hunt. :)

I went to my Meijer, located on Sawmill Blvd. in Dublin, Ohio this past Saturday, and they do not have the booklet. In fact, they didn’t have a clue as to what I was talking about regarding both the booklet and the catalina deal. They did have small cards advertising the catalina deal posted, and I picked it up and showed the meat counter employee. He just scratched his head in confusion. It just figures, I find out a great deal and cannot take advantage of it!!!! I may take the time to drive out of my way to visit another Meijer to see if they have the booklets though.

Beth, the Catalina should print regardless of whether they’re aware of it or not because it’s programmed into the computers. Even without the coupon it’s still free salad and hamburger after the Catalina, so that’s a pretty good deal!

even though the sale was the same at my local meijer – no catalina printed at the checkout. in the past i’ve never gotten the same catalinas as people are mentioning in these scenarios – any1 else experiencing this?

Tara, I understand that, but it’s the coupon for free salad that I want, to “sweeten” the deal.
