Check out a cool new site and you could be the lucky winner of a 16GB iPod Touch (ARV $299)!
Xtraxtra.com is your digital resource for news and milestones in your hometown and community. Just like your local newspaper, xtra xtra features the following milestones from locations across the U.S.:
birth, adoption, death, wedding, engagement, anniversary, birthday, academic, athletic, military, professional announcements, events, and photos.
But what sets the site apart is that all features are fully searchable making it easy to find the specific information you’re seeking! Registration isn’t necessary to use the site, but you get some great additional features when you register like the ability to send ecards and upload an unlimited number of milestones to keep your family and friends informed about your announcements.
You can even add an RSS feed for your location to your feed reader to stay on top of new milestones with ease!
Xtraxtra.com would love it if you’d give their site a little test drive. In exchange, you can earn entries for a chance to win a 16GB iPod Touch. What a fantastic way to put all that free music we’ve been finding lately to good use!
Xtra xtra is offering several methods to earn entries for this contest. Choose one each of any combination for up to a total of 9 entries!!!

Way cool site! I typed in my zip code & saw a wedding announcement for a friend’s son & the obituary of another friend’s mother. Nice to find everything in one place!
LM
I like how you only need to enter your zip code to see what’s happening in your hometown.
Erma
I like the website very much!

Good idea for a site. There wasn’t anything there for my H.S. or college but hopefully the site will take off! Thanks for the contest!

I love that I only typed in my zip code and so many things popped up. I live in a small town, so I was surprised to see anything.

Just signed up for XtraXtra, love the site. I think it’s pretty user friendly, even for technophobes like my mother! :-) And it’s a great way to have those relatives who forget things (my mother again! LOL) stay up to speed.
Deborah
Just signed up for your RSS feed emails too! I am so glad I found your site.

It’s easy to navigate and I was reading the obituaries which are interesting, but there wasn’t really much of anything else there, at least in my area.
It seems like a great idea and I’m sure that with time it will build. But I guess that I’m just not social enough and or curious enough to really have a lot of interest. But I wish the site a lot of luck in the future.

Ahhh!…I want it!

Cool! I found it to be fast and easy to use. My only suggestion might be to have an archive of local events from the last few months, not just the most current. I searched for my engagement announcement on there and couldn’t find it – it came out at the beginning of the year – even though the paper it appeared in is listed as a source.
