Check out a cool new site and you could be the lucky winner of a 16GB iPod Touch (ARV $299)!
Xtraxtra.com is your digital resource for news and milestones in your hometown and community. Just like your local newspaper, xtra xtra features the following milestones from locations across the U.S.:
birth, adoption, death, wedding, engagement, anniversary, birthday, academic, athletic, military, professional announcements, events, and photos.
But what sets the site apart is that all features are fully searchable making it easy to find the specific information you’re seeking! Registration isn’t necessary to use the site, but you get some great additional features when you register like the ability to send ecards and upload an unlimited number of milestones to keep your family and friends informed about your announcements.
You can even add an RSS feed for your location to your feed reader to stay on top of new milestones with ease!
Xtraxtra.com would love it if you’d give their site a little test drive. In exchange, you can earn entries for a chance to win a 16GB iPod Touch. What a fantastic way to put all that free music we’ve been finding lately to good use!

Nice easy to use site.

What a fun concept! I love the “stationary” when I made a milestone. My only problem was that when I 1st tried to “post a milestone” I just got a blank screen and had to start all over.

I love the idea of a website for milestones in life. It is direct and you can post past ones that defined your life now and look forward to reading future ones of friends and family.

I visited the xtra xtra site and really liked how the newspaper adds opened when I clicked on the links in the announcements. However, I don’t think that the site is something I would use on a regular basis. Maybe if I could have it downloaded into a feed reader it would be more useful to me. I doubt I would visit the site too often without the reminder of a reader.

Just figured out how to add it to my reader. NOW I will use it.

I visited the xtraxtra site. This may sound weird, but I like the obituary section. It looks very user-friendly where one can send one’s condolences and/or send flowers. I thought that was pretty neat.
I did not like that I could not select a category and see all the entries for just that category. I could only sort by most recent and oldest dates. It is also pretty new (oldest entry for my area was April 2, 2009), so there was not much information available.
