FREE After Rebate Entertainment Books

July 21, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 42 Comments

FREE Entertainment Book
Entertainment book just dropped the price on their 2009 books to $7.99. Cashbaq is offering an $8 rebate on purchases through 7/31! Shipping is just $1.99, so this is a fantastic deal for a book that’s chock full of great coupons.

Even better? If you’re a new Cashbaq member, you’ll get a $5 bonus just for signing up. That’s like getting paid to buy coupons!

Mine says shipping is $4.99. Hmmmmm. Still a good deal, though, but I might keep fiddling with it to see if it comes down at all.

Shipping is coming up as $4.99, not $1.99. Am I doing something wrong?

Hmm, the Cashbaq site says the shipping is supposed to be $1.99. I just emailed to find out what the problem is, and I’ll update when I hear back. Thanks for letting me know!

When I looked it said you had to reserve a 2010 copy to get the deal and that they could charge b/t $25-$51 for it – is that right or am I in the wrong place?

Does cashbaq automatically take the $8 off or do they mail you a check? If they mail you a check, how long does it take to receive it? Do you have to collect a minimum amount before they send you a check? Thanks!

It’s a rebate, so you’ll either get a check or you can select to be paid by PayPal. They pay on the 20th of every month if you’ve earned $10 or more. New members would reach the payment threshold immediately with the $8 rebate + the $5 signup bonus.

When I went on the Entertainment site tonight, they were listing the 2009 books at 9.99. Did they increase the price, or am I doing something wrong?

    Terri-
On the page where it says buy the 2010 book, get the 2009 book free, there is very small print underneath the picture of the book that says “Just want the 2009 book? Buy now.” Click the “Buy now.”

I checked back this morning and the error is fixed…it now shows up as $7.99 plus $1.99 shipping. This is my first time using Cashbaq…do I just click on the entertainment link on the site? I didn’t see them routing me like ebates so I want to make sure I’m doing this right. Thanks for you help!

Not sure if this is true for everyone, but when I went in, if I chose the $7.99 price with the $1.99 shipping, it reserved the 2010 book for me at a regular (slightly discounted) price. If I clicked to just buy the 2009 book, the price went up to $9.99 and shipping was $4.99. Still not a bad deal for a book (about $7 after Cashbaq $8 rebate), but not as good as the lesser amount. If the better deal is taken & the 2010 book is cancelled, you are charged an extra amount (either $5 or $5.99, can’t remember exactly). Anyone find anything different . . . ie. the supersweet deal without strings or more $$?

The rebates should be directly on the Cashbaq page, Amy. I just went through the process, and it looks like everything is fixed. When you come to the page about reserving a 2010 page, you can scroll down and click “no thank you” and it keeps the $7.99 price and $1.99 shipping.

Hmm, I’m a little bit confused about this one too, though it might be because I’ve signed up for Cashbaq in the past but hadn’t used it yet. I ordered through the link and had no problem getting the $7.99 price or the $1.99 shipping, but I see no record of this on my Cashbaq account. Is that the kind of thing that would come through automatically? (Even as “pending”?)? Or is it normal to have a waiting period before it shows up? Thanks!

Michelle, it takes about 24 hours for your pending purchase to show up. I’ve had very good experiences with them, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Thank you Tara! I checked my account on Cashbaq. It shows the $5.00. How long does it take to show the rebate? Can I order another one (different city) using the rebate? I want to wait until I know I got the rebate on the 1st one.

This is what the Cashbaq FAQs say about your account being credited.

Although most stores report back to us within a few days of purchase it is not uncommon for reporting to be delayed as long as 45 days from the date the item was shipped. Your rewards will not appear in your account until we have received confirmation of your order from the store. If after 30 days you still are not being credited for your order, please send us a Support Request with all of your order information included and our customer service team will work to resolve the matter so you get your full cash back.

Cecilia, on the Cashbaq page in the top box it says:

Earn $8 cash back plus use the coupons below to save more!

*Free Entertainment Book! Buy a book for $7.99 and we’ll send you an $8 rebate! No limit on how many rebates you can receive! Using discounts not listed here will make your order ineligible for cash back.

    Hi Tara!

I’m sorry to have you repeat this. I’m new to this and a bit confused. I went to the Cashbaq site and signed up. Then, I clicked on the entertainment book, and it sends me to a different page. It is $7.99 and $1.99 shipping. But I’m stuck at check out. I clicked on saving the $8, but I don’t think it did anything. I looked around for enter coupons… nothing. I know you said it’s a rebate so they will either send me a check or paypal it to me… but do they know to do this? Also, I mentioned I signed up for Cashbaq today, so I have the $5… how do I include that to my total? Thanks for your help, and I to, am sorry to be a pest :)

Tiffany, the rebate comes from Cashbaq, so you won’t see any information about it on the Entertainment Book site. After your book order is verified, the $8 rebate will be added to your Cashbaq account. You’ll receive a payment by either check or PayPal depending what method you choose.

Just went on the cashbaq site and it states that entertainment book has decided to discontinue the 7.99 offer with the $8 rebate.. I believe that it stated that there will be a $10 rebate with the purchase of a 2010 book………….

I just clicked the link to order the book and saw this:

“*Entertainment Book has chosen to discontinue the $7.99 per book offer through Cashbaq. We are working on getting another offer. In the meantime, in order to maintain a high level of value for Cashbaq members, we are increasing the cash back to $10 through the end of the month (or as long as we can). Going forward, books purchased using any other promotion other than the Free 2009 book will not be eligible for a rebate. Using discounts not listed here will make your order ineligible for cash back.”

It’s not up anymore, but I was still able to get a $10 back instead on a $10 book and the $5 shipping was covered by the $5 I spent signing up.

I did the same as Adina but now I’m thinking the 10 dollar rebate doesn’t apply since I didn’t preorder the 2010.. I see nothing where it says cancel. Ughhh!
