Easy DIY Tulip Arrangement + Win a $25 Craft GC (2 Winners!)

April 23, 2012 by Tara Kuczykowski

This post brought to you by iBulb. All opinions are 100% mine.

While I absolutely love fresh flowers, I have to admit I've never been a big fan of roses. They're over priced (and even more so for holidays), and frankly, I think they're kind of boring. I'd far prefer a dramatic bouquet of cut tulips any day — like this fun, Spring-like arrangement that I made yesterday!

It was really easy to put together — all you need are tulips, a lemon, and a mason jar. I think Le Parfait jars are so pretty, but they can get a little spendy. You can often find just the bottoms at thrift stores when the lids get broken, which is perfect for flower arrangements.

The first thing you'll want to do is trim about an inch off the bottom of each flower to allow them to take in more water so they last longer. Fill your jar with water and arrange the flowers. Then slice up your lemon into 1/4" rounds and tuck them into the jar around the flower stems.

The lemons will have the tendency to float to the top, but the stems should help anchor them into place. I'd just recommend adding them where you plan to display your arrangement so you don't have to move it after you get them placed exactly where you want them.

And that's it — a beautiful arrangement that takes only minutes to put together.

Two lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will win a $25 gift card to the craft store of their choice — Hobby Lobby, Michael’s or Joanne Fabrics — to put together their own tulip arrangement!

To Win:

Just leave a comment on this post sharing which store you would choose and what kind of arrangement you’d like to do!

This giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on April 30, 2012 and is open to all U.S. residents 18 years or older. At the end of the Contest Period one entrant will be selected by the Sponsor from the eligible pool of entries. Read the complete official rules. Good luck!

I would pick Michael’s and I would do something with lilies in memory of my dad! When I got married I couldn’t decide on flowers, my dad suggested lilies and they were perfect! They’ve had a special place in my heart since.

I’d pick iris in yellow & purple right now–they’re in season & gorgeous. Later my favorite flower would be carnations–smell so delicious, & so prettily ruffled. I’m not sure which Craft store, I love Michael’s, Beverly’s & Joann”s! (Gotta say the Dollar Tree has some great craft things & the price is always right.)
