While I absolutely love fresh flowers, I have to admit I've never been a big fan of roses. They're over priced (and even more so for holidays), and frankly, I think they're kind of boring. I'd far prefer a dramatic bouquet of cut tulips any day — like this fun, Spring-like arrangement that I made yesterday!
It was really easy to put together — all you need are tulips, a lemon, and a mason jar. I think Le Parfait jars are so pretty, but they can get a little spendy. You can often find just the bottoms at thrift stores when the lids get broken, which is perfect for flower arrangements.
The first thing you'll want to do is trim about an inch off the bottom of each flower to allow them to take in more water so they last longer. Fill your jar with water and arrange the flowers. Then slice up your lemon into 1/4" rounds and tuck them into the jar around the flower stems.
The lemons will have the tendency to float to the top, but the stems should help anchor them into place. I'd just recommend adding them where you plan to display your arrangement so you don't have to move it after you get them placed exactly where you want them.
And that's it — a beautiful arrangement that takes only minutes to put together.
Two lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will win a $25 gift card to the craft store of their choice — Hobby Lobby, Michael’s or Joanne Fabrics — to put together their own tulip arrangement!

Michael’s…and I love the tulips, too!
I’m on a JoAnn’s kick right now. And I also like flower arrangements that include a candle, so I’d go that route, although I don’t know what kind of flowers I’d choose.
Tough choice! I’d have to say Michael’s and a daisy arrangement.
Hobby Lobby. I’d do something similar with tulips. Love it!
Michael’s is my favorite craft store and I like someone’s idea of using rainbow colors, so definitely something multi-colored.
I love tulips….being born in March, they are 1 of my favorite flowers….Hope I can win the Gift Card
Michael’s. I love hydrangea, so I’d love to make something involving hydrangea for the top of my piano.
I LOVE Micheals! I shop there all the time for everything to do with arts and crafts. Their prices are unbeatable and with their rewards card and coupons, you save even more. If I won I would make an arrangment with irises in pink and purple colors with other flowers such as carnations.
I would do a tulip arrangement also…I love tulips and fresh cut flowers in general. It gives your home such a warm, fresh feeling. I would choose Joanne’s or Hobby Lobby as we have both of those close by.

Michaels or Hobby-Lobby. Tulips are my favorite flowers, so I definitely would do a tulip arrangement.

I’d pick Hobby Lobby, and I’d make a bouquet of pink tulips.
I’d choose Hobby Lobby (or Michael’s) and I’d create a carnation arrangement because they last so long and smell so good. Hyacinth would also be lovely, if available.
Love this idea, I have purple/yellow iris which would look so good with lemons! I’d probably choose Hobby Lobby as my first choice.
I would go to Michaels and use red and yellow tulips. : )
i’d choose Joann’s and i would do a pink tulip arrangement
I’d like Hobby Lobby and I’d do up a roses arrangement for my mom.
