I’m all for initiatives that support education, so I was really excited to hear about these worthy programs that have teamed up with Walmart to offer special bonuses: Kellogg’s Family Rewards, Box Tops for Education, and Labels for Education.
Perhaps I’m a little biased because I’ve always been a voracious reader myself and encourage my kids to read frequently as well, but my favorite of the three is Kellogg’s Family Rewards FREE Scholastic books promotion. Right now when you purchase specially marked packages of Kellogg’s products at Walmart, you’ll receive a promo code good towards earning FREE Scholastic books. For each two codes that you enter, you’ll receive a FREE book from Scholastic Book Club (up to a $5 value).
- Purchase purchase any two specially marked participating Kellogg’s products (or one specially marked Kellogg’s Tri-Pack) at Walmart.
- Register with Kellogg’s Family Rewards and enter the codes printed on the inside of the packaging. Bonus: get a FREE promo code to get you started from Walmart on Facebook, so you’ll need just one additional code to get your FREE book!
- Once you’ve entered two of the Scholastic-specific codes, you’ll automatically receive an email at the email address you registered with that includes instructions on how to redeem your FREE book. My email showed up immediately after I entered my codes.
There’s no limit to the number of times a household can redeem this offer. With the way my kids tear through cereal, I’m thinking we may need to build a library before the year is over!
Be sure to check out these other programs as well:
Box Tops for Education is a General Mills program donates a portion of product proceeds to local schools. Right now, Walmart have carries over 100 products with 4X Box Tops bonuses on them right now, earning your school $0.40 for each bonus Box Top redeemed! Plus you can score FREE eBoxTops from Walmart on Facebook right now.
Labels for Education, supported by Campbell’s and others, is the oldest of the education funding programs — I remember saving Campbell’s soup labels to turn in at school when I was a child! Look for specially marked packages from Campbell’s and Dannon to earn bonus LFE points for your school during the back to school season.
I hope you’ll consider adding a few participating items from these programs to your cart on your next shopping trip!
Disclosure: I am a participant in the Walmart Moms program. Walmart has provided me with compensation for the time and effort spent creating this post. However, my participation in this program is voluntary and my opinions are my own — always have been, always will be.

Sunny D also has a Bookspree, but the teacher has to send in the form. If he/she collects 20 labels from specific Sunny D bottles, he/she will receive 20 books from Scholastic. It must be postmarked by Nov. 30.
