Raise your hand if you love The Home Depot!
Thought so – I mean, what’s not to love? I get inspired to do some sort of household project just walking through their doors.
Here’s another bit of inspiration on a more serious note.
Through Feb. 28, The Home Depot is offering a commemorative “Dream” gift card celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. When consumers purchase the collector’s edition “Dream” gift card, The Home Depot will donate five percent of all sales to the Center for Civil and Human Rights, up to $1 million dollars. The donation will assist in the building of a permanent exhibition home for his personal writings and papers.
The collection of original documents by Dr. King includes more than 10,000 items, among them 7,000 handwritten notes spanning from 1946 to 1968. They include drafts of his “I Have a Dream” speech, his “Letter from a Birmingham Jail,” other theological writings and his Nobel Peace Prize addresses. The King Papers will be part of the exhibition offering of The Center for Civil and Human Rights. The Dream cards can be purchased at any store, or online at homedepot.com/dream.
Talk about amazing and inspiring, huh?
I have one of these commemorative gift cards loaded with $50 to spend at The Home Depot to give away to one Deal Seeking Mom reader!

What truly has inspired me within the past week was having President Barack Obama elected to office. Trying to not get political, but just his energy and charisma that he takes into the office is overwhelming. I hope he can direct our nation onto a better economic path and we all fair better than now :)

I am inspired by my 7 year old son. He is so amazing and I have so much I could learn from him. Although things have not always been easy for our little family he always has a smile on his face and always loves me even when I feel like I might when the “worst mom award.”

Inspiration to me is watching God do the impossible (at least in my mind.) I am continually inspired that He uses me in spite of myself.

It is easy to make speeches…..but I am inspired by everyday people that go out of their way to reach out to others….from slipping money to a cashier to help a mom behind them in line pay for groceries….or other simple acts of kindness. And our military men and women…whether betrayed as the good guys or the bad guys, standing strong to defend our country.
Please enter me in this fun contest…

I am inspired by my children, and their sense of wonder. I have a two year old little girl who is fascinated by the simple things, like how a bird flies, and how soft a doggie’s fur feels. She continually challenges me to explain things with her “What’s that” and “Why” questions. She makes me see things in a new light, helps me break down complicated matters into simple concepts, and gives me a greater appreciation for the great God who made us and the world around us!
