CVS Scenarios Week of 11/2/08

November 3, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski 12 Comments

If you need toothpaste and lots of gum, this is the week to run to CVS. Both are free or better than free after coupons and ECBs!

I’ve suggested a couple of transactions below to get you started, but Transaction #3 is readers’ choice this week. Link up your favorite deals to the Mr. Linky below!

Transaction #1

BUY (4) Crest Pro-Health Whitening Toothpaste at $3.49
BUY Dawn Dish Soap at $0.99

USE (4) $1/1 Crest Toothpaste any premium variety (4.2-oz.+), exp. 11-30-08 (P&G 10/12/08)
USE $0.50/1 Dawn Direct Foam or Dawn Simple Pleasures, exp. 11-30-08 (P&G 11/2/08)

Out of Pocket $10.49 ($0.49 if you use your $10.00 in ECBs from last week!)
ECBs earned $13.96
Profit $3.47 (Or $13.47!) on this transaction! (ECBs earned minus actual OOP)

Transaction #2

BUY (10) Ice Breakers Ice Cubes Sugar-Free Gum
BUY (2) Colgate 360 Battery Toothbrush at $4.99
Holiday Gift Wrap (30-sq. ft.) at $0.99

USE (5) $1/2 Ice Breakers Gum or Mints, exp. 11-30-08 (SS#2 9/7/08)
USE $1/1 Colgate 360 printable

Out of Pocket $13.97 ($0.01 after ECBs from Transaction #2!)
ECBs earned $9.00
Profit $8.99 on this transaction! (ECBs earned minus actual OOP)

Transaction #3

This week it’s your choice! There’s not really anything left that will get you a high return on your ECBs, so if you need diapers, do the Pampers deal now. If your stockpile of Coke is low, stock up on Coke. Or just save your $9.00 in ECBs and come back next week to see how we can roll them over!

Bonus CVS $5 Challenge Transaction

BUY Always Infinity Pads (14 to 18-ct.) at $4.99
BUY Dawn dish soap at $0.99
BUY Pert Plus at $2.50
BUY Ivory Bar Soap (3-pk.) at $0.99

$2/1 Always Infinity, any 14 ct.+, exp. 11-30-08 (P&G 10/12/08)
$0.50/1 Dawn Direct Foam or Dawn Simple Pleasures, exp. 11-30-08 (P&G 11/2/08)
$2/1 Pert Plus, any except trial size, exp. 12-31-08 (SS 10/19/08)
$0.25/1 Ivory Body Wash or Bar Bundle, exp. 11-30-08 (P&G 11/2/08)

Out of Pocket $4.72
ECBs earned $1.00

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Be sure to come back next week, and I’ll show you how to roll over that $9.00 in ECBs to get the most for you money!

Let’s share our best CVS Scenarios! Just link up your blog post via the Mr. Linky below.

To keep it neat, I suggest that you list your blog name and then describe your scenario in parentheses, ex. Deal Seeking Mom (Less than $6 OOP!). The only requirement is that you link directly to your scenarios. Links directly to your homepage will be deleted.

    Stephanie and BusyMom, the ad does state limit one; however, it happens quite frequently that the limits are not always as stated. Several people on the SlickDeals forum have confirmed the limit to actually be four. I’m sorry. I meant to mention that in my post!

    Anonymous, you can definitely use four coupons if you have four items. These particular coupons are from a Sunday insert. The information in parentheses tells you what insert it was in and the date it was in the paper.

    V = Valassis
    SS = SmartSource
    RP = Red Plum
    P&G = Procter & Gamble.

    Hope that helps!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
