CVS: Green Bag Tag Earns You ECBs

October 13, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 12 Comments

CVS Green Bag Tag
Here’s a fantastic new way to earn some additional ECBs!

Look for the Green Bag Tag pictured above on your next trip to CVS, and purchase it for just $0.99. Attach it to your favorite reusable shopping bag and have it scanned on each trip.

You’ll earn $1 in ECBs every four times you use your reusable shopping tote and have your card scanned.

Details on card:

To earn Extra Bucks for a transaction in store, your ExtraCare card, Green Bag Tag, and reusable bag must be presented w/ purchase at checkout. Limit of one Green Bag Tag use/scan per day per household. Every 4th purchase your ECBs will print at the bottom of your cash register receipt as a $1 coupon good for your next purchase. Extra Bucks can be used until the expiration date shown on the coupon…

Kudos to CVS for giving customers an incentive reduce plastic bag use!

Thanks, Couponing to Disney!

I LOVE this idea. I wonder if you can use it for multiple bags in one transaction. Since I often have more than 1 bag per visit, I’m curious if that would work and how they track it.

I’ll definitely be on the look out for the tags.

The wording above leads me to believe you can only have one card and use it at most once per day. It will probably be tracked by ExtraCare card since you have to present it along with the Green Bag Tag.

That is just one more reason to shop cvs. A lot of stores say they are going green. With this you can do your part. I love it plus extra care bucks are a good idea. I hope it catches on. We make so much plactic an it will be on this planet for ever. We need to reduce and this is great. thank you for letting everyone know.

I Love This! You can use any bag of your choice, that is the best part. I have bought several reusable shopping bags from different stores and have a collection in the van. Plus you get rewarded for your earth friendly behavior Yea!!! I wish more stores would do this.

There isn’t one listed on the tag, Cathy, so I’m not sure if there is one.
