CVS: FREE Gift In August

July 31, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 70 Comments

CVS Free Gift In August
It’s back!!! Get a free gift the first time you use your ExtraCare card at CVS during the month of August. I’m struggling to remember what others got last year, but I know I got a free bottle of CVS brand aspirin.

From the CVS site:

In August, the first time you use your ExtraCare card at any CVS/pharmacy store, check the bottom of your store register receipt for your coupon redeemable for a FREE GIFT!

Your coupon for a FREE GIFT will be valid for one week after receiving the printout.

I can’t wait to hear what everyone is getting!

Thanks to The Frugal Find!

Hey Tara, I just wanted to let you and your readers know about a great back-to-school deal from OfficeMax and Payless ShoeSource.

They are offering coupons to use at each other’s stores.

$10 off $30 purchase at OfficeMax & $5 off $25 purchase at Payless. This is a nationwide campaign that ends in September. Great info for tax free holiday weekends. See the post here: https://blog.al.com/bargain-mom/2009/07/officemax_payless_shoes_join_t.html

    Hey Tara and Christie!

I just read Christie’s comment and wanted to know if the “tax free” shopping will include all states? Or if it’s just one or a few? Thanks for any and all of your help.

    Sure thing Tiffany.

I’m an editor/bargain blogger with The Birmingham News in Birmingham, AL … The info is compiled by marketing firms who send me information for various posts. If you don’t mind telling me your state, I’ll check to see if there are any dates for tax free sales.

For Texas residents, tax-free weekend is August 23-24, 2009. This website can provide info on which items qualify. It looks like they have expanded the list to school supplies and backpacks (I thought these were already included?) One thing I never considered – lay-away plans to take advantage of tax-free weekend!

Is this for the first time you have ever used the extra care card or just the first time you use your old extra care card in August…

I just checked, and Michigan is not doing a tax free weekend. I just typed Michigan tax free shopping weekend into my search and it pulled up a site that listed all of the states included. Just FYI…

I didn’t know about this until I went today to get some Aussie 3 minute miracle. I got a free candy bar (3.5 oz) called Absolutely Divine that was worth 1.99. It’s milk chocolate and it’s okay if you are having an urge for chocolate but I wouldn’t buy it. lol. The woman in front of me in line got free lotion.

Went for my mom today and she got a free bottle of CVS brand mouthwash! I’m going in the morning… can’t wait to see what I get. :)

I also got my coupons from Readyfill. I said… “I heard we’re supposed to get a coupon book if we ask about Ready Fill… so I’m officially asking.” LOL
