Can someone please clarify for me…can I use a BOGO coupon on an item that’s on BOGO sale (Sobe Lifewater)?? I’m still unsure of this. Thanks!
Tara Kuczykowski
Cheryl, some stores may give you a tough time, but their policy is to accept them. This is what they emailed to me some time back.
“Also, when using a Manufacturer’s Coupon along with a CVS Buy 1 Get 1 Free Promotion you will received both items at no charge. You may have to pay sales tax depending on the item.”
Jen
I just printed the Sobe Life Water coupon and it states
“Maximum Value: $1.59”
So I’m guessing that the Life Water has to be under $1.59 for it to be BOGO free?
Tara Kuczykowski
To get it totally free it would be, but if for example CVS has their Sobe priced at $1.79, you’d just have to pay $0.20 for both. In other words, they should credit you up to $1.59 for the coupon towards the bottle you have to buy.

I had a good week at Cvs.

How do you veiw the ads early? There are some things you posted and I was trying to view the ads so I could figure out the oz. For example the oz of the Pantene that is on sale. THANKS for all your hard work!
Tara Kuczykowski
Hi Jenna! If you click on the link at the bottom of the post that says “See all ECB deals for the week of 4/12/09-4/18/09 here,” it will take you to the CVS post on SlickDeals for this week. You should be able to find a link to the early ad scan on there.

Did anyone go to their store on Saturday night? My store closes at 10. IF I go after 6pm on Saturday night, I can always get both the previous week and the next week’s sales. They usually have all the new sales tags up on the shelves. I went tonight and only the previous week’s sales would come up. I asked the cashier and she said the manager told her it wouldn’t go into effect until midnight. (We aren’t a 24 hour store!) Did this happen to anyone else? It wouldn’t give the sale price or the extra bucks.
Erica
Danielle-
That’s how it is at all the stores I’ve shopped at, I think the registers automatically switch at midnight. It could just be that they’ve updated their software recently to be more uniform with the other stores.
On another note, I did that Pantene thing last week at Target, they the natural expressions line on sale for $3.79. I used both the $3/2 coup and the free styling product coupon and it went through with no problems. :) Thanks again for all the great deals!
Kim
I bought 4 of the Sobe drinks today at my CVS. Used both BOGO coupons with the CVS BOGO promotion…but still had to pay for 2 of the drinks. I explained to her that I thought it should get them all to go through…but she said it didn’t work that way. Oh well. Just thought I would let you all know. Happy Easter!
Kim
Ok ladies…I need your help. I’m confused. So, I set up my game plan for what I wanted to get at CVS today…but last night I got sick and i didn’t make it to the store. I sent my husband and told him exactly how to do the purchase. (I had him using ecb’s, 4 off of 20) and…to make a long story short…he got confused. The total should have been like 3.10, but it ended up being 19.23. I guess he didn’t give them the ecb’s and coupon in time and so they didn’t take it. Anyways, I am wondering…can I return the SoftScrub soap and 3 of the toothepaste’s that I got….and then be able to purchase the Softscub back later in the week with my extrabucks and still get extrabuck credit? When I return the items, do I just give them back the extra bucks? Very confused. please help!
katy
My Colgate coupons from the 2/22 SS expired on 3/14/09 :(
Tara Kuczykowski
It sounds like they didn’t know how to ring it, Kim, because you definitely should get them both free according to the CVS policy.
As far as your second question, they won’t be able to generate the ECBs again, so returning the items won’t help anything. I’d just chalk it up as a lesson learned (albeit a slightly expensive one) and use the ECBs towards something else that you might normally buy at the grocery store like milk to balance it out in my budget overall.
Kim
Thank you for all your help!
Kim
I have another question. I had 3 of the (4 off of 20 coupons) and wanted to use them all in one transaction….the balance was 62.48. Can these all three be used in one transaction? I have done it a couple times before, but today they would only let my husband use one. They said it was one per transaction. Just for future….is this the policy that they have used with you guys too?
Tara Kuczykowski
This is something that will vary by store and possibly even by cashier. Personally, I try to avoid setting up my transactions that way. I would just break my transaction into as many transactions as I have coupons keeping the totals as close to the minimum as possible. The benefit of this is that I can use the ECBs from the first transaction to pay for the second and so on, so you can actually minimize your out of pocket expenses more this way.
Nena
The Pantene that is on sale is only ~12-13 oz and the $3/2 coupon is for sizes ~24 oz and above, so that coupon will not work for this week’s ECB deal. I was so disappointed when I noticed that!!
Tara Kuczykowski
I didn’t even catch that, Nena. Thanks for pointing it out fix it now!
veronica lainez
i used the coupon 3 dollars off in two pantene , i didnt even noticed in the sizes , i used the coupon without problem . i was lucky
