Come Support Deal Seeking Mom Thursday!

Ladies and gents, the Elevenmoms’ big trip to Walmart headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas is this week! I’ll be flying out tomorrow and heading back on Saturday.  I’m going to miss my kids dearly, but they’ve got tons of fun and exciting things planned for us.

Just a taste:

  • Makeovers using a special secret new shampoo
  • A special Thanksgiving dinner at the Campbell’s Test Kitchen with Chef Christopher Lee of the New York Palace Hotel’s Gilt Restaurant
  • Visiting the Walmart Innovations Center
  • and the infamous Saturday Morning Meeting at the Walton Family Fitness Center! (Harrison Ford and Paula Deen will be attending!!!)

Most of us will be twittering throughout our trip, so make sure you’re following me on Twitter!  We’ll come back with the inside scoop on the hottest toys for Christmas and an exciting twist regarding Black Friday!!!

In addition, Thursday from noon to 2:00 p.m. CST six of us will be hosting an online chat live from Bentonville! You can submit questions in advance now or during the chat.  Ask us any burning questions you have about saving money, couponing, stretching your budgets for the holidays, and more.  I’m really hoping to “see” some familiar Deal Seeking Mom faces there!

One last note, I’ll be checking in during my trip, but I’m not sure how much time I’ll have for actual blogging.  You all have been doing such a fabulous job of helping each other out in the comments when I’m not around that I trust everyone will still be well taken care of!

I’ve got some great guest posts lined up, and I’ll have the CVS and Walgreens deals and scenarios as well as a summary of my trip when I return on Saturday.  Wish me luck!

Freepeats is Open in Columbus OH!

I’ve been wishing and hoping for some time now that Angie would open a Freepeats group here in Columbus, so I was ecstatic when I was reading my feeds yesterday morning and came across her post that one has just opened!!!

If you’re not familiar with Freepeats, it’s a great way to recycle gently used baby, kid, and maternity stuff by passing it on at no cost to others who can use it. If you’re someone in need of these items with little funds, these groups can be a huge help in defraying some of the costs associated with having kids!

It’s normally $4.95 for a lifetime membership to the group; however, Angie’s running a very special offer right now. Columbus OH members can join for free through October 15th! This special is also open to Milwaukee and Chicago members during the same timeframe.

Freepeats currently has groups in 31 U.S. cities with several more to open this year, including Pittsburgh, Oklahoma City, Tampa, and Jacksonville. You can find a complete list of current cities here.

Still a Work in Progress

Thanks for your patience, everyone!  I’ve migrated all of my old posts over; however, WordPress uses a different naming scheme for URLs, so you may find that you’re getting an error page when you try to click on any site interlinks in posts.  I’ve decided the best way to clean this up is to go through and weed out any expired or outdated posts, and then I’ll have to go through and manually fix the links.  After that I’ll be working on the sidebars and then some custom pages.  I’m really excited about the functionality that the custom pages will add!  In the meantime, until I’ve installed more navigation, the search function works great, so I suggest using that to find what you’re looking for.

I’ll do my best to continue posting the deals as I’m adding things, so bear with me if things are a bit delayed.

Yes, THE Martha, queen of all things domestic which I aspire to but never quite achieve. Why is it that no matter how precisely I try to fold my sheets they just never look as neat and tidy? Maybe some day she’ll invite me on The Martha Stewart Show and show me in person. Ha, I’ll keep dreaming . . .
