Consumer Recalls: Miss Bonnie’s Gourmet Recalls Classic Cheddar Cheese SpreadMiss Bonnie’s Gourmet, LLC is recalling its Miss Bonnie’s Gourmet Classic Cheddar Cheese Spread that was distributed between 8/1/11 and 8/10/11, with a “Best By Date” of December 23, 2011 and batch code number 0116206G113 because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The recalled product is packaged in 8-oz. glass jars and was distributed to Kroger Stores in Roanoke, Virginia; Cincinnati, Ohio; Louisville, Kentucky; and Memphis, Tennessee.

Consumers should return the product to the store where purchased for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Miss Bonnie’s Gourmet, LLC at (540) 686-7634.

Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Philips Flood Lamps

Philips Lighting Company of Somerset, N.J. announced a voluntary recall of EnergySaver a/k/a/Marathon or Marathon Classic Compact Fluorescent Dimmable Reflector Lamps because the glue that attaches the glass outer envelope or globe to the body of the lamp can fail allowing the glass outer envelope to fall and strike persons and objects below, posing a laceration hazard to consumers. For product descriptions, model numbers, date codes, month and date of production and pictures, go here. The affected flood lamps were sold at grocery and home center stores nationwide, online retailers, and professional electrical distributors from March 2007 through July 2011, for between $11 and $24.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lamps and contact Philips to receive instructions on how to receive a free replacement lamp. For additional information, contact Philips toll-free at (866) 622-6372 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.

Consumer Recalls: Step Stools, Turkey Products + More

Step Stools

Target Corporation, of Minneapolis, Minn. announced a voluntary recall of Step Stools with Storage because the wooden step stools can break apart or collapse under the weight of the user, posing a fall hazard. The wooden step stool has two steps and comes in various colors, including natural, natural and red, white and honey. For a complete list of brand names, descriptions, UPC numbers and pictures, go here. The affected step stools were sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com from January 2007 through October 2010 for between $25 and $30.

Consumers should immediately stop using the step stools and return them to any Target store to receive a full refund. For additional information, contact Target at (800) 440-0680 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit the firm’s website.

Ground Turkey Products

Cargill Meat Solutions Corporation of Springdale, Ark. is recalling approximately 36 million pounds of ground turkey products that may be contaminated with a multi-drug resistant strain of Salmonella Heidelberg. The ground turkey subject to this recall has the establishment number “P-963” inside the USDA mark of inspection. For a complete list of “use or freeze by” dates and packaging descriptions, go here. The affected ground turkey was sold in retail stores nationwide.

Consumers should return the affected ground turkey products to the store where purchased. Consumers with questions about this recall should contact Cargill’s consumer relations toll free telephone number at 1-888-812-1646.

Consumer Recalls: Toy Keys + Video File Sharing Device

There have been several consumer recalls over the past couple of days that may affect Deal Seeking Mom readers. Please refer to the links included in each section for more details about the specific recalls:

Toy Keys

Battat Inc., of Plattsburgh, N.Y. issued a voluntary recall of Toy Keys with Remote because the metal toy keys and the plastic key ring can break, posing a choking hazard. This recall includes all B. FunKeys with factory code H58000-01 or H26300-01, and Parents Magazine Electronic Keys with factory code H26300-01. The factory code is located on the back of the remote. The remote of the B. Fun Keys is olive green or red and the top of the keys are multi-colored. The remote of the Parents Magazine Electronic Keys comes in different colors and the top of the keys is a solid color. Both remotes have sound buttons, and the metal keys hang from a plastic ring. The affected toy keys were sold at retailers nationwide and online sellers from April 2010 to May 2011 for B. FunKeys, and from January 2006 to December 2009 for Parents Magazine keys for about $9.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled toy keys away from children and contact Battat to receive replacement keys. For additional information, contact Battat toll-free at (866) 665-5524 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit the firm’s website.
