Cake or Brownies: Which is Your Favorite?

September 29, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski

There is another big debate taking place this fall. Through October 12th visit PillsburyBaking.com to join the campaign and vote for which dessert you love best – cake or brownies! America’s favorite dessert will be announced on October 20th.

So take a minute to go vote, and then come right back here to win the fabulous prize package pictured above!

That’s right! One lucky visitor to Deal Seeking Mom will get their own Pillsbury Sweeter America Prize Pack. The prize includes a selection of Pillsbury baking products, including:

  • Pillsbury Stars and Stripes Cake Mix and Frosting
  • Brownie Mix
  • Quick Bread
  • Pillsbury Apron
  • and a Pillsbury Doughboy Doll that giggles (not pictured)!!!

Overall in my house I’d have to say cake takes the cake! But there’s nothing I like better than an ooey-gooey, warm and chewy brownie fresh out of the oven with a big glass of milk. Mmm, having chocolate cravings just thinking about it!

Every reader has three methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, or three, for up to a total of 3 entries!!!

1. Leave a comment sharing how you voted and why! Make sure that I have some way to get in touch with you if you are the winner. (Either leave your email address in your comment or make sure I can access it from your profile.) Don’t worry, I won’t harvest your email addresses or use them for any purpose other than notifying you if you win.

2. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.

3. Spread the word about this contest in some manner and come back and leave a link in a separate comment. If you have a blog, you can blog about it. But if you don’t have a blog, you’re not at a disadvantage. You could review and Stumble it. You could Twitter it. You could post about it in a forum. Use your imagination!

It is important that you leave a separate comment for each type of entry because each comment is equal to one entry. Sorry to harp on this, but it really is that important to tally and select the winner easily, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Prize:
(1) Pillsbury Sweeter America Prize Pack as detailed above

This giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, October 5th. I’ll use Random.org to generate a number that corresponds with the winning comment number and post the winner on Monday, October 6th. Good luck!

While you’re in a contest entering mood, don’t forget to check out the Giveaway Gathering for a variety of contests being hosted on Deal Seeking Mom readers’ blogs!!!

I voted for brownie. You can bake them and pull them out of the oven and not even have to worry about frosting them.

Brownies win, hands down! And I must say that boxed brownies are better than any homemade ones I’ve had (and I like to make pretty much everything from scratch).

I like using olive oil with the brownies instead of veggie oil for an added health benefit (or at least, I tell myself their healthier and then consume most of the pan!)

    Thanks for offering a prize!

I voted cake. I am one of very few women who do not crave chocolate. Every now and then I will have some chocolate but a little bit will do.

I voted for cake, as that’s my favorite, although I probably bake brownies more often as it’s quicker and easier with two little boys and lots of playdates!

Brownies always win around our house. I don’t like cake but LOVE frosting and my husband is the opposite so we do very well when I bake.

I looove the brownies! That way I can make sure “we all get some” even if someone (like myself) has to leave… and take my stash with me!
Makes for easy kids lunch dessert too.

Brownies, because store-bought cake frosting has trans fat!
Plus chocolately, chewy browniew are great :)

I voted for cakes. IN our house cake goes over better than brownies. The house favorite cake is my pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese frosting, it does not last long at all!!!!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
