Back-to-School Giveaway: Wave LX Street Surfing Board

With an increased focus these days on getting kids on their feet and outside to play, I’m excited to tell you about today’s giveaway. The Wave LX (Light Xtreme) is a caster board that blends motions of surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding to produce the fast growing and popular sport of Street Surfing. If you think that sounds a little difficult, then I’d say you’re right. It is difficult to get the hang of it. However, once it clicks, it can make for hours of fun!

The Wave LX is intended for ages 5 and up, but I’d argue that a 5 year old would have a lot of difficulty in using this product. My 6 and 7 year olds have been trying this product all summer and are still trying to learn the motions. Though it’s challenging, they’ve enjoyed it. Of course, I recommend that your child wear a helmet and pads for added safety.

    Favorite outdoor family activity – jogging. We are training for our first full marathon in November, and we completed our frist two half marathons during the past year. We love to take our nephews jogging. The 9 year-old makes it 1-2 miles. The 7 year old 1/2 mile. The 5 year old 1/4 mile. Then, as they tire, they ride their bikes with us for a mile or two. Family fitness!

    We are outside at least 2 hours a day. With the toddlers, we love to play with sidewalk chalk, blow bubbles and chase them. My older one likes to kick the soccer ball around.
