Tune in all week for hot Back-To-School Giveaways. We’ve got some great prizes for the kids, with a couple of special prizes to pamper mom!!! Look for a new 48-hour giveaway each morning and each afternoon, and be sure to check out all of the current giveaways for other great prizes!
Today’s giveaway is especially for all the younger siblings who stand at the window longingly watching their big brothers and sisters head off to school!
Aren’t these fuzzy little guys just about the cutest thing ever? Smooshies are basically a fuzzy pillow with velcro arms, legs, features, hair, etc. that allow your child to express their creativity. You can find extra parts to increase the combinations at Michael’s and Joann Fabric’s.
I don’t know which of my kids was more enthralled with the Smooshie. My youngest just loves to snuggle and cuddle with it. But he’s also enjoying ripping off random body parts and waving them around with delight. Note: Smooshies are intended for kids ages 3 and older, but I let me little guy give it a whirl while closely supervised.
The older kids got a little creative and got a kick out of seeing what “kooky creation” they could come up with by putting body parts in unusual places. I didn’t anticipate my oldest showing much interest, but even he surprised me and decided to get in on the fun.
One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win a complete Smooshies kit, ready to be snuggled and played with!
To enter, leave a comment and tell me about your favorite toy as a young child! Was it something soft and cuddly and sentimental or something that sparked hours of imaginative play?

I use to love to play with my Poochie dog. Does anyone else remember these?

I loved my dolls. That is pretty much all I ever played with. My mom started out making outfits for them and then once she got into garage saling, we would find newborn outfits and I would use those for my dolls.

When I was about 4 or 5 I got a stuffed Clifford the Big Red Dog. It was HUGE…well, I was little, but to me he seemed huge. He was my favorite for years. I do still have him.

My very favorite toy was my teddy bear. My brothers and sister gave him to me for Christmas one year and I still have him. He sits on a shelf in our guest room.

I really loved my baby dolls. My daughter has a stroller with a baby doll in it, but she thinks the doll is in her way, and will take it out and throw it across the room! Yikes!

Legos were my favorite toy when I was young! I used them to design scaled models of houses and such. I always wanted to be an architect.

My favorite toy as a child was my Cricket doll, she had a tape player in the back, and I also loved my barbies.

my favorite toys growing up were my mom’s vintage barbies (barbie, ken, skipper, midge, and several more). loads of late 60’s clothes also. when cleaning out at her parents’ house, we found more clothes still in the packages that her mom had forgotten to give her! they allowed me to play with these brand new ones as well. absolutely amazing.

I had a pillow that I took with me everywhere. It was so filthy my parents had to sneak it away from me to wash it.

I was the queen of stuffed animals–they all had names and clothes and beds made from shoeboxes and on and on. My oldest child would love creating new characters; my youngest would love simply putting everything off and on and off and on!
Nikki
Loved the glow worm. Now my girls have them too!

We had a playhouse in the backyard, and my friend and I would collect buckets of chesnuts from the tree and other backyard “treasures” while going on vast adventures.
