Back-to-School Giveaway: FreeAgent Go External Hard Drive

August 20, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski

FreeAgent Go Portable Hard Drive

Tune in all week for hot Back-To-School Giveaways. We’ve got some great prizes for the kids, with a couple of special prizes to pamper mom!!! Look for a new 48-hour giveaway each morning and each afternoon, and be sure to check out all of the current giveaways for other great prizes!

In today’s technology-driven world, the importance of backing up data can’t be understated. Whether you keep important documents or priceless photos on your hard drive, you run the risk of losing it all without proper backups.

The Seagate FreeAgent Go portable hard drive is a great solution for securing your data, especially if your family has more than one computer.

The FreeAgent Go will makes it easy to backup your entire computer and then some. Seagate sent me one of these little contraptions to try out for myself, and seriously, it’s so simple that even my 5 year old could set it up. I just plugged it into the USB port, and the installation process started up automatically.

Features that I love (besides the cool red and chrome colors):

  • Automated scheduled backups – one less thing I have to remember is always fine by me!
  • Syncs folders between computers – I often switch between my laptop and netbook, so this will be a huge timesaver.
  • Docking station – makes keeping it connected to your main computer easy, but it’s also easy to hook up to another computer!
  • Password protection of the drive – no worries about curious little people erasing my backed up files!

With 500GB of memory, this external hard drive should have plenty of space to backup my photos, documents, and iTunes music collection safely for many years to come.

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win a FreeAgent Go 500GB portable hard drive!

To enter, tell me what information you need to backup on your computer. Do you have hundreds of pictures of your kids? Important financial documents? Business records?

+++++++++++++++

Every reader has four methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, three, or four for up to a total of 4 entries!!!

Methods of entry:

I have not backed up in a long time. I should have learned my lesson when my laptop died which made me lose all of my delivery pictures of my daughter. :(

I also have thousand of pictures to back up, I lost tons of them a year ago when our old computer took a poop on us and everything was “GONE” all the pictures of my new grandson and my kids. My son startes high school next week and he also take alot of pictures so I would also appreciate winning this hard drive. That way I could check it out to see if I want to buy extras.

These are fabulous. I have been seriously considering getting one to back up all my digital photos. I would have to lose all of those.

I desperately need to back up all of my files. Photos, documents, etc. It’s kinda like cleaning my house… I avoid it. ;-)

Funny thing. My hard drive died about two months ago and nothing was recovered (songs, pictures!, fonts). I luckily work in the MIS department of my company and had one of the tech guys install a new hard drive for free, so that was awesome…but this would be so great to win!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

Oh my…do I have stuff to back up! THOUSANDS of photos, tax records for two businesses, contracts, bids, estimates, forms…school documents for my teacher husband…worksheets, tests, posters, notices….you name it. This would be great!

No, I don’t back up. It has been on my list of things to do since my last computer died, but it seems to much to figure out, so I keep on postponing it. I would hate it if I lost all of my photos. Yuck!

I’ve been needing to purchase one of these for a long time. I put my recipes on my computer, but my daughter is a kindergarten teacher and she is constantly putting her teaching templates and photos on it. I’m afraid she is going to loose all that hard work if we don’t get it backed up soon.

I would love to win this external hard drive. Our hard drive on the computer has crashed three different times. We’ve lost numerous pictures and different information. If we had this we’d constantly be backing up our pictures and information.
