Join me every day this week for Back-to-School Giveaways. I’ll be posting 5-day giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!
As I’ve mentioned before, KIND Snacks have quickly become one of my favorite healthy snacks, and they’re especially great when I’m looking for a nutritious snack while I’m on the go. The makers of KIND believe that food should never be processed to the point that you can no longer tell what it is, and all of their bars are made from wholesome all-natural ingredients you can see and pronounce. With whole nuts and fruit held together with honey through a natural process that keeps them fresh, KIND snacks are packed full of flavor and have just the right amount of crunch!
KIND is a sponsor of the annual Great Kindness Challenge on August 14.
The Great Kindness Challenge is one day devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible. This year’s goal is to have over one million children participate with the hope that this day will inspire a lifelong commitment to service and kindness.
From sunup to sundown, children around the world will accomplish simple, kind deeds using The Great Kindness Challenge Checklist from Kids for Peace. Visit The Great Kindness Challenge for more information and to sign up to participate!

I take care of a 17 year old single mother and her 2 year old son, mentoring her and helping them both financially to help them have a better life. Both of her parents are in jail. She is doing really well, she now has her own apartment, a job, medical etc…I am very proud of all her hard work!

We are already doing it! We bake goodies every Friday and bring them to the homeless shelter. We are told that the residents look forward to them so we’ve been making extra. It’s a lot of work but the reward is awesome!

Our town was hit by an F4 deadly tornado in June. The entire family helped in the clean up process. We continually donate clothing and household items also.

We’re also donating items – clothing, shoes, even baby items/ furniture that we no longer need. Clothes go in the big containers near the stores, and the furniture goes on the curb outside. People always come before trash day. It’s nice to know they’re still useful to someone, even anonymously.

I returned a baggie with WIC checks and money left in a grocery cart this week. I know that awful feeling when you have lost something of value — I left an envelope of valuable coupons at the checkout once and realized too late to retrieve them — (FREEBIES, etc.), but have been so grateful when I was preoccupied and left my coupon holder in a shopping basket and someone returned it.

Every year we go through what we have.
If it’s usable, in good condition and we
can give it away we do it. Our kids learn
a valuable lesson and we’re grateful for
what we have.
