Back-to-School Giveaway: $100 in KIND Snacks!

August 11, 2010 by Deal Seeking Mom

Join me every day this week for Back-to-School Giveaways. I’ll be posting 5-day giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

As I’ve mentioned before, KIND Snacks have quickly become one of my favorite healthy snacks, and they’re especially great when I’m looking for a nutritious snack while I’m on the go.  The makers of KIND believe that food should never be processed to the point that you can no longer tell what it is, and all of their bars are made from wholesome all-natural ingredients you can see and pronounce.  With whole nuts and fruit held together with honey through a natural process that keeps them fresh, KIND snacks are packed full of flavor and have just the right amount of crunch!

KIND is a sponsor of the annual Great Kindness Challenge on August 14.

The Great Kindness Challenge is one day devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible. This year’s goal is to have over one million children participate with the hope that this day will inspire a lifelong commitment to service and kindness.

From sunup to sundown, children around the world will accomplish simple, kind deeds using The Great Kindness Challenge Checklist from Kids for Peace. Visit The Great Kindness Challenge for more information and to sign up to participate!

One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win $100 in KIND Snacks!

Yesterday I took a floor fan and a bowl of ice cream to our elderly next door neighbor who lives alone. She does not have air conditioning and the heat index has been between 100-110 every day this week combined with crippling humidity. She was so pleased! More so for the ice cream than the fan I think :)

Kindness can be many things–let someone go in front of you at the store, shopping for an elderly neighbor, putting your neighbor’s newpaper by their door so they don’t have to venture out for it. These are things I do on a daily basis, not for money or acknowledgement, but to make someone else’s life a little easier. So simple too.

On the 14th, we will be stuck in the car all day long. Our next volunteer project is for Sept 11th. Some families and working together to make a big meal to take to our local fire station to thank them for their hard work. My daughter is excited to help.

Kindness is opening the door for others, give someone the right of way driving, letting people go in front of you in line. Smiling and giving genuine compliments to others. For my kids I teach them to share and help others when they are in need. It just makes you feel good to do good :)

Hi, I made a meal for a friend’s family tonight. She is going through chemotherapy for breast cancer. I try to do at least on act of kindness a day and encourage my children to as well.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
