Join me every day this week for Back-to-School Giveaways. I’ll be posting 5-day giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!
As I’ve mentioned before, KIND Snacks have quickly become one of my favorite healthy snacks, and they’re especially great when I’m looking for a nutritious snack while I’m on the go. The makers of KIND believe that food should never be processed to the point that you can no longer tell what it is, and all of their bars are made from wholesome all-natural ingredients you can see and pronounce. With whole nuts and fruit held together with honey through a natural process that keeps them fresh, KIND snacks are packed full of flavor and have just the right amount of crunch!
KIND is a sponsor of the annual Great Kindness Challenge on August 14.
The Great Kindness Challenge is one day devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible. This year’s goal is to have over one million children participate with the hope that this day will inspire a lifelong commitment to service and kindness.
From sunup to sundown, children around the world will accomplish simple, kind deeds using The Great Kindness Challenge Checklist from Kids for Peace. Visit The Great Kindness Challenge for more information and to sign up to participate!

While my elderly neighbors were on vacation, my two boys, ages 7 and 4, helped them out by picking up some brush and twigs from their front yard. The boys did this without a word to the neighbors. We are trying to teach them to do acts of kindness even if they aren’t acknowledged.

I found out last week that a friend was moving for the second time this year! She hadn’t asked anyone for help since they had already been helped for the first move. I had a shed full of boxes from our military move two years before. Brought them over to her house with my three boys. The boys taped them up and the ladies loaded them with goods. Then I called my husband; he came over with three more boys from the neighborhood! My girlfriend organized at the new house while I stayed at the old. The men and boys loaded and transferred boxes and furniture using their truck and our van. This coming Saturday we’ll do it again and they will be moved out two weeks earlier than they had planned. Friendship is the best deal out there!

we have been doing a really fun service activity as a family–and i have a few friends involved too. as latter day saints, we as a whole set a side monday nights as “family home evening” where we’re all together, we have a little scripture based lesson, activity and treat. basically christ-centered family time. its a great thing, and i recommend it for EVERY family, lds or not! anyway, i came up with the idea of the “fhe fairy” and we deliver the treat to 2 families in our church every monday. i have toddlers, so i do most of the work, but they love to stir! and my husband delivers the treats on the families door steps and hurries away before they see! we love doing this little random act of *sweetness*

We just spent a whole Saturday helping a single mom at our church get her garage and house organized and we powerwashed all the outside windows to get rid of all the cobwebs for her! It was fun!

My kids and I deliver Meals on Wheels every 1st and 4th Thursday of the month, and have done it for about 1.5 years. There are very few agencies that allow young children to help, but this is one of them. I encourage people to look into this. It is fun, organized, and the elderly LOVE seeing little kids bring them their food.
