New Crayola Crayons were one of my favorite back-to-school supplies as a kid. There was just something about a brand new pack of shiny, multi-colored crayons that inspired me to want to create colorful images of hearts and rainbows and all things sparkly and pretty that the imaginations of young girls conjure up. That waxy scent still takes me right back to the first day of 2nd grade, kind of like the smell of Playdoh reminds me of rainy day fun. . .
I’m so glad that Crayola products have stood the test of time and are now inspiring a new generation of imaginations. And I’m happy to share with you about how you can join in the fun!
Every Tuesday night through the month of August, Crayola is sponsoring “Girls Night Out” on Twitter – the mommy social gathering featuring colorful and engaging discussions on all things back-to-school. Crayola has teamed up with MomItForward.com, the creator of “Girls Night Out” (GNO), to bring you the “Crayola Creativitycast.” The weekly series of GNO discussions will feature a new topic each week like “Affordable Fun 101” and “Back to School Survival Guide,” and all GNO participants will have the chance to win great prizes!
For more details about tonight’s #GNO chat and how to participate, go here.

I’m a crayon sniffer. I was born one, I always will be one. I’ve tasted them once or twice also, but that’s another story. Great giveaway, and you’ve got a great response to this one. I hope I get it.

My favorite memory of Crayola products would have to be around Christmas time, we would color pictures of Santa and different Christmas themed pages. It was so much fun with the big boxes of crayons, I always loved the creative names of the different colors!

I got a package of crayola’s for my birthday and a huge coloring book. The pages of the book were so big and it took me days to color just one. I loved it.

My favorite childhood Crayola memory is when I would get the BIG pack with the sharpener on the back and search through for the Cornflower Blue. That was my favorite color and I thought it was the most beautiful in the entire pack.
Michele

Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I have recently subscribed to your website. I also wqanted to share a “Crayola” experience while I’m at it.
It took place when I was in 3rd grade (1990). My uncle just bought my sisters and I a box of the new Crayola glitter crayons. My 3rd grade teacher asked our class to draw a picture of anything relater to the ocean. So there I was drawing the coolest picture of a glittery whale swimming in glittery water surrounded by all of his glittery sea friends. When I was satisfied with my drawing I asked my teacher if I can share it with the class. She said yes. Since I was done before the rest of the class was, I asked her if I can go to the bathroom. I went to the 3rd and 4th grade bathrooms, but they were locked because of vandalism. (the 4th graders learned about Bloody Mary and decided to trash the place) So there I was on the verge of peeing in my pants. I had to run over to the 1st and 2nd grade side to use their bathroom. I though I would be able to avoid an accident, but right when I entered the stall it all came out. I cleaned up as best I could, but I was not able to change because I had no extra clothes. The only choice I had was to return to class and wait an hour before school ended. As I entered the classroom I saw that everyone hasdalready begun to share their drawings. I walked straight to my desk and sat down. My teacher called my name and asked me to come up front to share my draying, but I told her that I changed my mind. then my neighbor said, “Leticia, you have to show your picture. Nobodys drawing had glitter in it.” So, if it wasn’t for the coolest Crayola glitter crayons, I would have been able to stay in my seat and not share my cool drawing.

I remember using all different colors on a sheet and then drawing over it with a black crayon. Then scrapping off designs and shapes out of the top layer, and revealing awesome “surprise” colors underneath.
