Sorry, Tara, I should have been more specific. I was talking about the Walmart price listed under the coupon links. That is the price of the DVD, not the combo pack. Although it seems that Walmart accepts the combo pack coupon for the DVD, it may not work for everyone and it may not be ethical to use it on the DVD. The combo pack is $30 or more at Walmart I think… can anyone confirm?

Hmm, if that’s the case I’d suggest price matching at Walmart as well. I’m not sure what the price is myself.

I got a regular Up, not the combo with Blue Ray at Target for $15.99 and a regular Monsters Inc for $19.99, again not the blue ray combo. I was able to use the $10 off and $8 off coupons plus the $10 off target coupon for buying both. I ended up getting both for $8!!!!! The check out girl did not even look at my coupons, just scanned them and they all worked first try. great deal, saving them for christmas!!

I just am fraustrated. I love the whole concept of this idea. I went out searching for the dvd’s. And here in Utah all the Targets are out of both. So I went over to walmart…they had monsters inc but not up. And they won’t honor the target coupon when you buy both. Then I went to target and tried to price match the flipper game for 14.99 from kmart ad and she said that it is store policy that they don’t price match! To top it off they were also out of santa potatoe heads and wipes…when I asked about them she tried to look them up and just said are they in the ad. AHHHH I was so done…it is like if it isn’t in their ad they have not a clue. I don’t know if it is just their new holiday helpers that don’t know a thing…but I am sooo ticked off that I am done shopping at target…the coupons aren’t worth it and my money can be spent better somewhere else. To add also that they didn’t know when a shipment was coming in again for the dvds….what!

I experienced much of the same, Suzanne. The Target website shows Monsters Inc. available and in-stock at both Targets near me, but neither one has it in stock. I even opened up my internet browser on my phone at Target and searched for Monsters Inc. in front of the manager who didn’t believe me. She said they receive shipments every night, and Up is priced $19.99 through Saturday, so I’m calling both stores every day to see if they received more in their shipment. If they still haven’t received more by Friday, then I’m asking customer service if I can pre-pay for both just to use my coupons before they expire.

I bought the regular DVD of UP for $15.99 and the BluRay of Monsters Vs. Aliens for $19.99. Used $10 UP coupon, $8 Monsters coupon, and $10/2 Target coupon for buying both.

Based on Mandi’s deal, the following should work (but please double-check the math):

Monsters Inc. Blu-Ray 29.99 (ring this up first)
    Up Blu-Ray 24.99
Get a free Plush dog with purchase of Up
Buy (7) Hasbro games priced $3.99
    = $82.01
    Use $10 Up Q
    Use $8 Monsters Q
Use $10 gift card with $75 purchase Q
    = $64.98 OOP
Receive $5 gift card for purchasing Monsters
Receive $10 gift card for purchasing $40 of disney movies
Receive $10 gift card for purchasing $25 worth of Hasbro games
Receive $10 gift card for $75 purchase
Submit for 2 $5 movie rebates
Submit for $14 Toys R Us Hasbro rebate
Final Price = $10.98 for both movies, Hasbro games, and plush dog

Of course, this requires a hefty amount of cash up front and $35 is returned in the form of Toys R Us gift cards. It’s really only worth it if you plan to buy other items at Toys R Us.

I thought these coupons were only for the blu rays? I see others have purchased the regular dvds and were able to use the coupons, Has anyone in the Dallas area tried this?

I went today to Target…got the UP dvd non-combo pack version…it was on sale for $15.99. I used my coupon and the $5 gift card I got from purchasing the candles last week and got the dvd for almost free. With all the free coupons I had collected over the past few weeks I purchased $31.00 worht of merchandise and ended up paying $5.50 for it all. Thanks Deal Seeking Mom…you are wonderful!!! Had no trouble using all the coupons and no problem using the UP coupon on the single version of the DVD. (course I did have a male cashier in training too…)

$1 A PIECE!! Target, both blue ray dvd’s. Up on sale for $19.99, manager gave me the price $18.99 for Monsters, Inc. based on Best Buy ad, then gave me the option of Target price $19.99 or Best Buy price of $23.99. Hmm… ok give me the Target price. So, $39 for both. $28 in coupons— bottom price $11. Have already used the popcorn rebate for Tinkerbell, so the other two are $9. Total will be $2 plus tax. Thanks Deal Seeking Mom!

I went to Target yesterday and tried to buy regular versions of these two movies using all 3 coupons but it did not work. Lucky are those who got this deal without buying the more expensive blueray versions…..

I have not been able to find Monsters Inc. at any of three targets in my area. I even called customer service who said it’s in stock at all three. I informed them that I had just been to one of the Target stores and are currently out-of-stock. The clerk told me they had only received 20 copies of Monsters Inc. at the beginning of the week, and he doubts they will receive more because his price scanner showed 4 copies available even though he knows they are out-of-stock. I also explained to the customer service rep that the clerk called the other two Target stores only to discover that the same was true there: only received 20 copies and the movie was out-of-stock there, too, but showing 4 available on the price scanner. The customer service representative then got a little ugly with me and said the ad stated “quantities limited” and that I’ll just have to wait until they receive more. I reiterated that THREE stores were out-of-stock early in the week on an item that was advertised AND had a current Target coupon out. I’m very disappointed. I was looking forward to buying both Up and Monsters Inc. for a great price, and the sale will be over and my coupons will be expired by the time they receive more. Instead, I have wasted paper to print out three coupons that I will not use.

OMG!!! I did the Target scenario and this is what happened. We used all three coupons & did the price match for Monsters inc from Best Buy. Up had been price dropped from 26.99 to 19.99 so Up was 9.99 after coupon & Monsters Inc was 8.99 after coupon, then we used the 10.00 Target coupon leaving us a total of 8.98. We then got out to the car & looked at our reciept and it looked like the Target coupon had not been taken off. So we went back & showed the manager who gave us the 10.00 back for the coupon. We had bought t some other stuff so no one really noticed that the 10.00 off coupon was applied it just printed off on the reciept weird. My husband figured out that we got the Target coupon applied twice once we got home. So we ended up with Up & Monsters Inc for free. Loved this scenario, keep up the good work.

I tried to get this deal at 4 different Target’s the week it was on sale and NONE of them had both movies in stock. They wouldn’t give me a raincheck on them either in spite of the fact that they had the little sale tags on the shelf. The guy said they don’t give rainchecks on “special edition” items. I told him neither of them were a special edition rather they are combo packs with both Blu-Ray and DVD discs in them. He didn’t care and said no-can-do on the raincheck.

I think I’m going to wind up getting both of these movies at Target anyway. I found a Target that has both of them in stock. The Up is ringing up $19.99 and Monsters, Inc. is $24.99. Not as great of a deal as some of y ou got but still a good deal…better price than just getting Up by itself and I can put Monsters, Inc (we already have it on DVD and don’t have a Blu-Ray player) in the gift closet. :)
