Kmart: Hot Special K Deal + Super Doubles

September 27, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 22 Comments

Kmart logo

It appears that participating Kmarts are doubling all coupons up to $2 in face value this week (not just P&G) after all. However, you won’t be able to tell from the ad whether your local store is participating, so I recommend calling first to be sure.

Here’s a hot Special K deal that you can take advantage of using the buy any 5 Special K and save $5 promotion in the weekly ad:

Buy (2) Special K Blueberry Cereal, $2.50
Buy (2) Special K Bars, $2.79
Buy (1) Special K Protein Shake, $5.50

Use (2) $1/1 Special K Blueberry Cereal printable
Use (2) $0.75/1 Special K Chocolatey Pretzel Bars printable
Use (1) $1/1 Special K Protein Shakes printable
$0.41 ea. after doubled coupons and $5 instant savings!

(Thanks, Krazy Coupon Lady!)

Kmart in Bloomington, IL are still only double P&G coupons. When asked if they would be doubling other non P&G coupons, the manager said they would not be doubling any other coupon any time soon.

For those whose stores say ONLY P&G are they going to stop you from using other coupons at the store at the same time? I mean what if you regularly use coupons in the store, not just for doubles? It honestly doesn’t hurt to try. Unless, you do not live close to the store.

Just got back from my Toledo, Ohio store and didn’t have any problems using any of my coupons. $390.00 before coupons and $137.00 after, plus $16.00 in certificates to use next time.

Winter Haven, FL is doubling all coupons. $273.09 before, $31.21 after coupons. I went for only freebies or under $.50 and a few Dr. Pepper 12pks, which ended up $1.33 a 12 pk after coupons which were peelies on the case!

For those of you who have stores saying that they are only doubling the P&G coupons, I would recommend trying anyway. My store said that they were not participating when I called, but I tried anyway since the corporate list included them and they always do participate. All of my coupons were doubled by the computer automatically, the cashier wasn’t about to reverse it and they can’t stop you from using non P&G coupons with the intention of using them at face value. It’s just a sweet surprise when they double. I can’t imagine how they would set up their computers to only double P&G anyway, especially only in some stores???

I went to the Arroyo Grande store today and they were GREAT! They doubled all my coupons without putting any limits at all. I did 11 different $50 transactions. I think my total OOP was less than $100.00 for over $550. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! The best deal is on the Glade soy candles with the multi wicks and diffusers. In the KMart coupon book there is a $2.00 coupon for either (I believe it was also in a recent SS?). They are on sale for $4.99. The small soy candles are $2.50 and there is a $1.00 coupon in the KMart book. I bought 10 large candles and or diffusers $49.00
    1 small candle $ 2.50
    Total $51.50
Use 1 $5/off $50 (you can get by signing up for KMart e-mail)
Use 10 $2.00 off candles and diffusers
Use 1 $1.00 off small candle
    Total OOP is $4.50
    Get back $12.00 Catalina
If you store enforces the 4 coupon limit for one item then you can change it up with other SCJohnson products.

On the Special K deal that Tara described, look for specially marked packages with the Jeans emblem, collect 5 and you could get $10 off a new pair of jeans–makes the deal EVEN better.

    S. Cal. stores again will only double 10 coupons a day so there is NO WAY to match the yields as noted above. Why is there such a discrepancy in allowance from state to store…
Oh well, at least they are participating…

I appreciate the scenarios – THANKS.

Anther “deal” worth noting is on the Duracell batteries. The KMart coupon book (they still had stacks at customer service and every register at my store–expire Oct 3) has a Qfor $2.00 off Duracell AA,AAA 8 pack or C or D 4 pack) they went on sale yesterday for $6.00. After doubling you are paying only $2.00! A lot of the packages included free earbuds for your I-Pod or computer. (Always welcome in my house because mykids break them in about a week.) You might have to look around the store for the non-typical displays of batteries to find them as the main display was sold out, but they also had them in auto, toys and by the front registers. I had each of my children buy 4 packs, so we are SET for batteries at a great price for a while.

I have a question out of curiosity…the Kmarts that are enforcing the 10 double limit… how are they doing this? Are they only taking 10 coupons regardless of if you care if they double or not… my store the girl doesn’t count them… and the register takes them all and doubles them.

    Ann,
Don’t know what part of Pa you are in, but my store on Haines Rd said that they were not participating when I called and when I asked CS in the store. The cash registers had a different idea though. Worked like a charm. I think some stores are warding off couponers because this was some kind of mixup for them. Lancaster and Columbia stores are participating too.

I believe it is up to the cashier to set the limits. My store in CA lets you do anything because that is how the registers are set up. It is the cashier that enforces the “you can only have four of one coupon” or “only 10 coupons”. I don’t know how they stop them from doubling after 10 though. If you are just trying to redeem coupons after the 10 (at face value) because the registers will automatically double them. The registers will automatically double buy one get one free coupons less than $2.00 too. Their disclaimer says differently, but their register doubles it anyway. The cashier just scanned my b1g1 ziploc coupons and I got both free! I think Sears (KMart’s parent company) really doesn’t have a clue–think of the recent coupon fiasco with the Jr. Clothes Coupon and now sending out dozens of different versions of coupon policies and not adhering to anything they said. I tell you, if Super Doubles are really gone, (the e-mail that I received from CS said that they were) you will not find me shopping in a KMart (or Sears) anytime soon, unless they decide to put out another unlimited PDF coupon, LOL.

yea i called the kmart in mn (west st paul) if they were participating knowing that they already do cuz my sis already went there and got her coupon doubled just to see if there was a spending limit of $25 and i was told that they werent! i told the gal that my sis did it there so why was she telling me no. all she kept on saying was that theyre not suppose to advertise it even if people call in and ask! kind of dissapointing. im sure mgnmt told them to tell customers that. well why participate if youre NOT gonna advertise it!!!

Can these be stacked with the printables?

Debra, it sounds like the peelies are also a manufacturer’s coupon, so they could not be stacked in this case.
