I love kitchen gadgets of all kinds, so I was excited to try out the Shenzhen Ceramic Knives after reading about the many benefits that ceramic knives offer over traditional steel knives:

  • Ceramic knives stay sharper longer. They’re harder than steel and will hold their edge longer.
  • They will not rust and and are easy to clean.
  • Ceramic knives won’t affect the taste of food or cause it to turn brown.
  • They’re lightweight, making them easy and comfortable to use.

So what’s my verdict? They certainly are every bit as sharp as their website says. My finger can attest to that, LOL. The only drawback I can see? Because ceramic knives are very delicate, they can’t be used for more aggressive chopping and deboning, so you will still need to have several steel knives on hand for these tasks.

The good news is that Shenzhen Ceramic Knives are a fantastic price for the quality compared to many other highly recommended ceramic knives. So if you’re looking for a good set of ceramic knives at a bargain price, this set fits the bill!

    My husband sharpens our knives with a stone or either a knife sharpener.He does want me to do it scared I’ll cut myself! First time he show me the (he-Man) proper way to do it,we went to the emergency room for him to get 8 stitches!Still laughing….

    We have a set of knives that came with a sharpener, but we haven’t sharpened them yet. I guess neither my husband nor I know how or when to sharpen knives. These would be great!

    I used to sharpen them at least once a year. After the movers destroyed my whet stone set, I just stopped. It’s really quite sad because I have some nice knives, but they’re not in very good shape!

    We use a knife sharpener to do the regular knives…but haven’t a clue how to do the serrated knives. I saw a sign in Kroger saying they’ll sharpen knives, maybe I need to check there!

    Apparently I don’t sharpen them often enough. Using a hatchet or maybe a chainsaw would be more effective. These ceramic knives would be great to own.

    My hubby sharpens as needed with some kind of knife sharpener – he’s always sure to tell me after he sharpens the knives so I don’t cut myself – but I do anyway….

    Heh. I’ve never sharpened my knives. I’m not sure that they’re worthy of being sharpened (you probably shouldn’t expect much out of a $75 knife set). I would love to have a new set of grown-up knives!

    I never sharpen my knives. I just keep using them even though they are dull. I do have one from Pampered Chef that has it’s own self sharpening case.

    We’ve never sharpened them – we’ve been married almost 4 years and our knives are really dull. Guess we should figure out how to do it!!

    we sharpen our knives at home with the diamond sharpener that came with the set. we don’t do it every time we use our knives, but if there is a lot of chopping involved in a recipe then it is a must!

    We have a knife sharpener, but I rarely use it. My knives are dull, old, and awful, and I’ve been eyeing/coveting new ones, but I have no idea when we’re going to be able to afford new ones.
