Whenever we run out of gift ideas for our four girls to offer the grandparents, my default answer is pretty much “books or something Melissa & Doug”.

When they arrived, my husband and I quickly unpacked the boxes to see for ourselves (the big reveal for the girls will have to wait until Christmas morning!). What I love most is that the sturdy train table offers a place for all four girls to play together, and it can be used not only for the classic wooden train set but also for their doll house, building blocks or as a table for their arts & crafts.

The train set itself offers a ton of possible configurations and is sure to keep them busy for hours, and I have a feeling our 3-year-old will spend most of Christmas Day dressed up as a train engineer!

    My sons favorite wooden toys are trains! He plays with trains all day…and when he’s not playing with them, he’s talking about them!

    My son’s favorite wooden toys are the classic alphabet stacking blocks we bought him for his first Christmas. He is two years old now, and he still loves to play with these for hours. I absolutely love the longevity of wooden toys and I know that one day when my son outgrows them I will be able to pack them away and pass them down to his children. They will make a wonderful childhood keepsake.
