Toddler feeding products probably aren’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Evenflo. I know I think of it as primarily a company that produces baby bottles.
I was very interested when I heard they have a neat new line of toddler feeding products called Smart Steps that have the dual function of helping parents and toddlers recognize proper portion sizes. I know I would have appreciated having a simple way to recognize just how much I should be putting on my child’s plate when I was a new mom, but what I really like is the fact that it teaches your child how much to serve themselves as well.
We had the opportunity to try many of these products in our home, and I found them simple to use. I thought one of the coolest features is that the bowl lids snap on the bottom making them more stable. No more spilled cereal!
My son is at the stage where he wants to drink from a regular cup like his big sisters and brothers, but cleaning up spilled milk every night is not a prospect I’m excited about. We found the insulated cup to be a good compromise because it’s not too baby-ish looking, especially without the cover. But the cover is great for when we are taking a drink in the car for one of the many sports my kids are involved in.
Evenflo is offering some great coupons right now on these products so you can give them a try yourself! Get $1/1 or $3/2 Evenflo Smart Steps products. And it’s in PDF format so you can save even more if you try them and like them.
Did you/do you have trouble figuring out portion sizes for your toddlers, and would this be a good solution for you?
I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Evenflo and received a sample to facilitate my candid review. In addition, Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Portion isn’t as much of a problem with us, but if these cups don’t leak, I’ll be thrilled. There are very few that we’ve tried that don’t leak!

Evenflo Smart Steps is currently available to purchase at Babies R Us, Burlington and HEB and will be available in Walmart stores nationwide beginning in January 2010. I believe prices start around $4.99.
