Win-It Wednesday: Klutz Guide to the Galaxy Prize Pack (3 Winners)!

by Tara Kuczykowski on May 11, 2011 · 316 comments

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!

If you were ever obsessed with the bright lights that fill the night sky as a child, then you'll know the magic that it contains for young minds. Foster that interest in your own child by opening up the universe to them and letting them explore the stars and the planets that are out there beyond Earth. Scholastic has a fantastic interactive activity book, Klutz Guide to the Galaxy, that does just that.

About the Book: Explore the universe without leaving the comfort of your backyard. When the scientists at Klutz Labs tackle outer space, they not only ask questions like “Where’s the Big Dipper” but also “If I lived on planet Mercury, am I already old enough to drive?” Use the included telescope, red light for night use, sundial, and astrolab to start exploring our great galaxy.

Three Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a Klutz Guide To The Galaxy Prize Pack that includes:

  • The Klutz Guide to the Galaxy
  • Backyard Stars
  • Backyard Stars
  • Invasion of the Bristlebots
  • The Solar Car Book

I always wanted to be an astronaut when I was a little girl. I'm still completely fascinated. The night's sky is one the most beautiful things to me!

I was never obessed with the stars, I remember as a child making wishes on the first star I would see each night.

6 TJ May 12, 2011 at 1:45 am

I wanted to be an astronaut ever since I was little because I loved the stars/constellations, planets and "the man in the moon". Then I found out I was prone to motion sickness and had to switch dreams-bummer!

I wasn't really obsessed - but I did always like to try to find stars/see constellations and especially shooting stars!

16 Laura C May 12, 2011 at 6:37 am

I wasn't obsessed, but watching Haley's comet in the early morning on the beach is one of my favorite memories from middle school.

I loved looking at the stars as a kiddo! I went to an elementary school that had a planetarium inside of it and when we would go, it was a favorite thing to do at school.

22 Kris May 12, 2011 at 7:45 am

I wasn't into space until high school and took an astronomy class, then took another in college. I am sure the book is awesome!

23 Ger May 12, 2011 at 8:10 am

I wasn't obsessed, but did look at the stars and wondered.

24 Jennifer May 12, 2011 at 8:38 am

I was always interested but not obsessed. I could rarely find any specific constellation but was pretty excited when I did.

Thanks for the giveaway!

I once got my cousin to sit out on the deck with sunglasses on for a few hours because I thought the reduced glare would make it easy for us to see the colors of the planets. Turns out, adults don't give five year olds polarized glasses, but our devotion spoke columes about how much we loved the stars.
