Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday, with 24-hour giveaways just for you!
Have you ever wondered if you remembered to close the garage door? Or have you ever worried about the safety of your garage door? If so, then the Genie SilentMax 1000 garage door opener and its many new safety features will offer you peace of mind.
Not only does the SilentMax 1000 provide intelligent design for the homeowner that wants quiet performance with superior design and conveniences, it also offers some pretty amazing safety features like a comprehensive Safe-T-Beam system that meets or exceeds CSA regulations, an auto reversing system that prevents it from closing if something is in the way, and a superior encryption system that automatically changes the access code every time you use it to prevent unauthorized persons from opening your garage door.
The Genie SilentMax 1000 is so simple to install that my husband was able to put it up without assistance in about an hour. I have to say it definitely lives up to its name — it’s the quietest garage door opener I’ve ever heard (or not heard in this case). I was in the house and had no idea he was already testing it out!
I love the keypad entry system because it means I don’t have to carry bulky keys with me when I go for a walk or to the park, and it’s also great for those rare occasions when the kids beat me home from school. They just punch in our PIN number, and can let themselves into the house.
One of my favorite features is the optional Network Adapter. It’s easy to get distracted when pulling out of the driveway with a carload of kids, so this handy little feature tells me at a glance whether or not I’ve remembered to shut the garage door. The Network Adapter remote will beep and flash green when closed properly or give a warning tone and flash read when not closed properly.
Today, one lucky Deal Seeking Mom winner will win a Genie Silent Max 1000 Garage Door Opener prize pack that includes:
- One SilentMax 1000 Garage Door Opener
- Closed Confirm 3-button Remote and Network Adapter Combo

My biggest concern with the garage door is not knowing if I’ve closed it! This one would be great!
Al
My concern is the automatic garage door closing on a child.
Judy
What is my biggest safety concern with garage doors? That the door will not go down completely and I will have driven off and someone can crawl under and get into my house!
Susan
My biggest concern is always whether or not I shut the door, I have turned around to check several times.
Chris
My biggest concern is if someone were to steal my car, they would have access to my house with the remote opener that I keep in my car.
Shelley
Mine is if it reopened on it’s own….we’ve had that happen before…where you watch it close and then glance back and it’s opening again. We learned that with the way my garage faces, the glare of the sun can actually alter that sensor not to find the other one! It’s very frustrating!!

that a child will run under while closing and sensor would not work, or leaving open and coming home to someone in my house!!!
Michelle
I liked it on FB, and I swear I still have mommy brain even if my kids are 4 and 6. I turn around the block at least twice a week to make sure my garage is shut. I also have the sun glare issue if I leave the house at 4:50ish in the fall I have to wait to make sure it goes all the way down, otherwise the sun hits the safety line and it goes back up!
Wendy
My husband and have the hardest time remembering to close the garage door.
Janine
My biggest concern is that occasionally I’ve shut the door, and drove away, but it didn’t close all the way. And since I thought I shut it, I drove away and anyone could have gotten in.
Wendy
