I often get recommendations from readers to try a wax warmer when I post candle coupons, but frankly, most of the ones I’ve priced seem a little unreasonable for the product. But recently Better Homes & Gardens sent me a couple of their new ScentSationals wax warmers to try, and I loved them so much, that I just had to share them with you all.
If you’re not familiar with a wax warmer, you basically get all of the benefits of a scented candle in a much safer format. The wax warmer unit uses a 25-watt light bulb to gently warm the wax and release the fragrance into the air. It’s so safe that you can actually leave it turned on 24/7!
Priced at only $15 for the warmer unit and $2 for a package of wax, I feel the ScentSationals products are very reasonably priced. As you’d expect from BH&G, they offer a beautiful array of warmers that will complement any decor. Plus right now they are offering a line of limited edition harvest warmers that come in fun seasonal shapes like a gourd and an apple.
I’ve been very impressed with the scents so far — they seem to last forever. Just one wax square (a package comes with 6 squares) has lasted about a week and a half so far of near daily use. I tend to lean towards comfort food scents, and the Ginger Spice Cake has been my favorite to date. I’ve yet to try the Country Kettle Corn and the Sugared Vanilla Shortbread, but they’re both on my list to pick up!
These would make a fantastic Christmas gift! Find the ScentSationals products at your local Walmart in the candle aisle and on endcaps. Judging by the way the endcap looked at my store, I’m not the only one that thinks these are awesome!
Have you tried using wax warmers in lieu of scented candles?

I love my warmers.. I tend to get mine from Scent for Cents for 10.00 but her wax is 3.00 a package but they are longer lasting than Walmart brands. I did the Scentsy which is good but very expensive for my budget. But for 2.00 you cant beat the walmart type scents they carry.. just dont do it strong enough for me.

I love my “tart burners” from Yankee Candle. I can usually get the wax tarts for $1 during their frequent sales. I much prefer them to messy, sooty candles.
Melissa
I like the tart burners at Yankee Candle too! My cousin was able to pick a really cute one up for $5 on clearance!! They always have coupons and sales too so the tarts are really cheap. I’ve been afraid to get one for myself though because of my pets. I never leave a burning candle unattended, but these warmers I probably would. I worry about that my cats might try to drink or mess with the liquid wax sitting on top and get hurt. They wouldn’t be afraid of it or know to avoid it like they would a candle with a flame. Anyone experienced a problem with these warmers and pets?

I am an Independent Consultant with Scentsy and I love it-it may be slightly higher priced than the Walmart wax warmers but definitely worth the investment. You receive 8 cubes in a bar for $5. The scent lasts longer and the warmers offered are beautiful. Hosting a party can get you lots of free items-my last hostess earned $104 in free products and 3 half price items.
I tried the Walmart wax and the scent didn’t last as long and it was greasy, and much more difficult to pop out of the warmer top when I wanted to change it out.

I’m a consultant as well, and after viewing the product line for BH&G’s warmers, I’m even more confident in the product that I sell! lol Not a one of those warmers would match anything in my house and most are pretty gaudy looking. I love my Scentsy and would purchase it even if I wasn’t a consultant! =]

I am a Scentsy Consultant as well. I agree with both of you; with Scentsy, the warmers and scents are just way better quality. Knock offs will never be good as the original. :) I have customers that had previously used Walmart warmers and wax and once I introduced them to Scentsy, they wont ever go back.

If you want a awesome scent and COST MUCH LESS THAN scentsy. $7.95 for 20 cubes. go to ashman candles in Utah. They use SOY WAX and use as much “fragance” as you can put into wax without it catching on fire. If your looking for a deal THIS PLACE IS IT

All I can say is you get what you pay for. My MIL bought the Walmart stuff and couldn’t even give it away. Made her head ache and she said when it was warming it smelled horrible. Scentsy is so much better. The selection of warmers is out of this world, the scents are fantastic and they have lots of other items, like Scent Buddies, which are adorable stuffed animals. I’d rather pay the extra for quality.

You get what you pay for . . . Walmart’s warmers specifically state not to leave unattended and not to leave on for more than 4 hours. Scentsy’s warmers can be left on 24/7 unattended. Their wax is also a much higher quality – it melts faster and lasts longer.
Amanda
Katy is right on, these walmart warmers are unsafe and are not even a close comparison toScentsy

I have a BH&G warmer and LOVE it!! I use both scentsy and the walmart wax scents. I personally love them both. There are certain scents in both brands that gives me headaches, and just smell terrible. I chaulk this up to personal preference. I also have scents from both brands i ABSOLUTELY Love. The lilac walmart scent just cant be beat, I also love the country sunflower. But the scentsy goji berry, satin sheets, and jelly bean is equally amazing. To each there own I suppose, but what I do know is that I will never go back to candles!!

Scentsy DOES have a larger array of warmers to go with your decor and I have two Scentsy warmers (little plug in for my bathroom and a mid size for my bedroom) and prefer Scentsy scents more because they last longer. But I bought a WalMart one for the office and it worked well until I killed the wax dish part. Now I have the warmer part but nowhere to put the wax. I believe there should be replacement bowls for butterfingers like me so we don’t have to buy the entire thing again. Any suggestions?
BTW Canu Canu I think its called is my fav Scentsy scent so far.

I have used Scentsy and for the record Scents for Cents last longer to me and cheaper.. I like both but for my money the Scents for Cents is way better and I have also got others that are just as good also.. Scentsy is not the only good one!!
