Edison Wax Warmer Review | Higher-End Decor on a Budget

April 16, 2014 by Tara Kuczykowski Leave a Comment

Have you seen the new Edison Wax Warmers at Walmart yet? I haven’t actually found them in my local store yet, but I’m told they should be there very soon. They do have a big selection online right now, though, and you can get FREE Site to Store pickup with your purchase.

The whole line was designed to showcase a vintage-style 40-watt Edison light bulb placed in decorative objects from history at an everyday low price, and at $19.88, I think they totally succeeded!

I received the ScentSationals Edison Mariner Wax Warmer to try out, and I absolutely adore it. While it wouldn’t have been my first choice based on the images online, it’s really grown on me and fits in well with our decor.

The quality of these wax warmers is really high, and I think they’re a really unique offering in this space currently. I actually wouldn’t have expected to find a product such as this at Walmart, so I’m really excited to see that they’re testing the waters on offering some higher-end styles to their customers.

I also received a selection of ScentSationals wax cubes to test with the warmer. Priced at around $2 for a package of six cubes, these are a great value and an economical alternative to scented candles. The wax can be cooled and reused multiple times or easily wiped out and discarded with a paper towel.

I’m very sensitive to scents, so I’ve been pretty cautious about which scents I’m trying out. I tend to gravitate toward fruity scents or those that smell like baked goods. Luckily I received several of these types of scents with my package!

I love the light and fresh Coconut Water, and the Coffee Cake Swirl is my kids’ favorite scent. But my absolute favorite from this batch is the Ginger Peach! It’s peachy and fruity without being overpowering, and it just screams spring.

What your favorite kind of fragrance you use to scent your home?

New Scensationals Wax Warmers Only $15 at Walmart!

October 30, 2011 by Tara Kuczykowski 13 Comments

I often get recommendations from readers to try a wax warmer when I post candle coupons, but frankly, most of the ones I’ve priced seem a little unreasonable for the product. But recently Better Homes & Gardens sent me a couple of their new ScentSationals wax warmers to try, and I loved them so much, that I just had to share them with you all.

If you’re not familiar with a wax warmer, you basically get all of the benefits of a scented candle in a much safer format. The wax warmer unit uses a 25-watt light bulb to gently warm the wax and release the fragrance into the air. It’s so safe that you can actually leave it turned on 24/7!

Priced at only $15 for the warmer unit and $2 for a package of wax, I feel the ScentSationals products are very reasonably priced. As you’d expect from BH&G, they offer a beautiful array of warmers that will complement any decor. Plus right now they are offering a line of limited edition harvest warmers that come in fun seasonal shapes like a gourd and an apple.

I’ve been very impressed with the scents so far — they seem to last forever. Just one wax square (a package comes with 6 squares) has lasted about a week and a half so far of near daily use. I tend to lean towards comfort food scents, and the Ginger Spice Cake has been my favorite to date. I’ve yet to try the Country Kettle Corn and the Sugared Vanilla Shortbread, but they’re both on my list to pick up!

These would make a fantastic Christmas gift! Find the ScentSationals products at your local Walmart in the candle aisle and on endcaps. Judging by the way the endcap looked at my store, I’m not the only one that thinks these are awesome!

Have you tried using wax warmers in lieu of scented candles?
